Race Report with a difference!
This weekend saw the 3rd Warrior race take place in Tierpoort JHB. And instead of giving you a blow by blow of every obstacle etc. I thought I’d rather just share the love of OCR.
We must never forget why we do what we do. We shouldn’t be racing just for podiums, to beat the guy next to you or because your sponsor says you must. We are racing to better ourselves, our abilities, spend time in some amazing venues and to share the experience with likeminded people who share a love, passion and drive for the sport.
This year I have been fortunate enough to find myself at the front of the pack with some of the best OCR racers SA has. It is so easy to get carried away with the excitement, adrenalin and “race mode” that we forget to just truly enjoy ourselves and love the sport we are doing.
Just having a look at a few of the pictures you can see such a wide variety of people and abilities coming together and Loving OCR. And I think it is so exciting seeing friends and team mates improving each and every race.
It is easy to get disheartened when you can’t complete a race, you can’t finish a rig or you’ve got injured and recovery is taking its sweet time. Its times like these when you need to rely on your friends and family to help get you through cause even when you are going through a rough time there are people there giving you love and support.
There was no better example of this than this weekend’s Breaking Point. Warrior seriously went back to their roots and built a solid obstacle.#lovedit
There were all the teams, racers, supporters everyone was there encouraging, giving advice and consoling when bands were cut.
This is the sport I choose to do and I will try do it with as much love, enthusiasm and happiness that I can, and my @adventureobstacle
family just make it that much easier. You are all awesome Thank you!! @supamama_sa
