It's hard to write anything about Valletta or Malta without typing compliment after compliment. This is truly a unique and absolutely fantastic place. I'm not even going to mention the gorgeous Mediterranean sea as it's barely visible in these shots. 📷
Starting with the architecture, the ancient buildings, the Maltese windows and all their unique features, Valletta is just amazing. So much history in such a small capital city (around 6000 inhabitants).
Built in the 16th century, Valletta was the first planned city in Europe, expertly designed by the Knights of St John during their reign in Malta. Occupying a space of 0.8 square kilometres, Valletta also ranks as the smallest capital city in the European Union.
