Ecological disaster in Alanya!
In fact, in the popular Turkish resort - Alanya, not everything is as good as in photos from the Internet.
Of course Alanya is beautiful, and it's much easier to boast of new parks, playgrounds, landscaping, building a funicular, and with ostentation to clean the central beach on World Clean Day.
The face of Alanya looks nice, but the city "underwear", sorry, dirty.
I am now talking about Alanya landfill, which is beyond the Bektaş mountains.
Dump has outgrown all sorts of limits. We were there. It is huge and awful, surrounded by beautiful mountains and forests where impossible to breathe!
We live in valley in the mountains right above the city, district Tepe, not far from the viewing terraces, surraunded by the expensive villas, and we are first who meet the "gas attack" already for several years.
We repeatedly applied to the city administration @alanyabld
, wrote complaints and received official replies and assurances that there are no any problem with the dump and moreover it will be closed soon.
But up to this day we observe how several times a day along the mountain road the garbage trucks filled to the brim are crawling towards the landfill.
What else to do?! Where else to contact?! To arrange a protest action over the city administration to attract their attention to ecological problem of Alanya?! We simply can not breathe! Almost every evening, when the wind blows from the mountains, locals have to lock themselves in their homes, clogging all the windows in order not to be poisoned with "fresh" mountain air!
I'm not exaggerating at all, it's really not just a slight unpleasant smell - it's a terrible stench! We do not know what to do to hide from the stinky air!
I write this post as a cry of the soul. And "with pleasure" I note here the Mayor of Alanya Adem Murat Yucel!
, come to our home for tea around 8 pm, or come to viewpoint admire the night city from the terraces of the new park, where your portrait flaunts, and "enjoy" the local smell.
We are foreigners living here, our children, our guests, tourists and friends, and, sure, all residents of Alanya want to breathe clean air!
