In the Mood for My Warm Nightcap!⠀
I know nightcap generally refers to an alcoholic beverage, but I don’t drink alcohol late at night since it can cause insomnia. Instead, I will have a cup of tea or (my new favorite) a turmeric latte. Tomorrow on the blog I’ll be sharing my recipe!

Health tip of the day: Do you have diabetes? Then you may want to consider walking after dinner. Studies show that walking for at least ten minutes after dinner can significantly improve your blood glucose levels. It can also help you reduce stress, and develop an exercise habit, if you don’t already have one. It can also be a perfect opportunity to spend quality time with your family.

Fitness tip of the day: If you’re in your 40’s and need help adopting a healthier lifestyle, then a more methodical approach might be your best bet. Since this is the age when you’ll really start to feel the effects of poor sleep habits and poor nutritional choices, make changes to these areas first. The energizing effect should be enough to get you in the door at your local fitness center.
While it’s important to incorporate cardio and strength training into your routine, it’s equally important to find something that you enjoy so that you can better develop this new habit. Find a dance class, or cycling class, or a mind-body class such as tai chi or yoga and do something that makes you feel good. The point is to get moving.

Síðustu vikur hafa verið svolítið á hlaupum hjá mér, þar sem við erum að hefja stærstu þjálfun mína Nýtt líf og Ný þú þjálfun, eftir tæplega viku. Þrátt fyrir allt hef ég ekki notað vekjaraklukku nema þegar ég er með fund mjög snemma morguns. Ég hef hreyft mig daglega, farið í göngur mínar og hitt vinkonur og fjölskyldu og flýtt fyrir matnum mínum svo ég hafi alltaf eitthvað hollt að grípa í. 🌯🍌🥞
Þrátt fyrir að ég eigi margt eftir ólært finnst mér þetta nokkuð flott framför frá 'vinna frá morgni til miðnættis ‘’Júlíu” sem startaði fyrirtækinu! 👱🏻♀️

A couple years back I experienced a massive burnout. I worked my butt off to build up my company 'Lifðu til fulls' and my drive took over to the point I forgot to do the exact thing I help other women do “to put their health first”( like the sentiment says here on the image) 👉🏻😯
I didn´t give up, as I'm no quitter 😛 but I did learn a good lesson and that to always but your health first! ✌🏻
Mmmm Mommy and Baby egg pizzas for lunch!
⭐️ Recipe ⭐️
👉🏼Preheat a medium sized pan and spray it.
👉🏼Pour in egg whites or scrambled eggs (I used egg whites for me and 1 whole egg for Beckett’s)
👉🏼Before the egg cooks, I throw on a handful of spinach.
👉🏼While it’s cooking, top with pizza or tomato sauce and any meat or veggies you would like. I used Natural turkey breast deli meat (on mine only), tomatoes, and smoked Gouda cheese.
👉🏼Lightly cover with tinfoil and let it fully cook through for a few minutes.
Beckett loved this! And he doesn’t really like eggs that much (although he does eat them). But he almost ate all of his. 😁

Am I right? About 75 % of Americans are concerned about their weight, and most are not going about addressing it in the right way.
That lack of knowledge sets us up to fail. People go to crazy extremes to lose weight. They cut out entire macronutrients, like carbs or fats. This is all BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD. This type of ‘dieting’ directly disrupts your hormone balance, sending survival message to the body to store fat and slow down your metabolism in case the state of famine continues.
Real Food does not exclude any nutrient – carbs, fat or protein – because efficient, safe, permanent weight loss, muscle strength and wellness is possible only when all nutrients are present and accounted for.
So don’t be scared to eat carbs, whole, non-proceeded carbs. They are essential to the body that you crave!

I’m really trying to eat healthier (note the word “trying”). My sweet friend @ikedun
has inspired me! One snack that fills me up is a handful of almonds. At least it’s better than my afternoon candy run — sigh.

If you have been following my journey, you know that I am very passionate about health & fitness. Yes, I am very pleased with my physical transformation but more so with my internal one. This time several years back, I was unhealthy and going through life without purpose.
My true transformation has been mental because my whole mind frame has changed. I eat to fuel my body and what I put in my body is to help fight disease. I have mental stability & I am happy. I want to be healthy for me, for my kids, my husband, & my family. I ultimately understand that health is wealth and that nothing in life is guaranteed. You can either feed disease or fight it. I choose to fight it because I know I have full control over my daily choices.

Making changes is hard. Sometimes you have to get uncomfortable. When I stopped making excuses (not enough time, not enough room, age, spending the money) and started this journey a year ago I found I am so much stronger than my excuses!
Deciding to start living and be healthy and fit is a LIFESTYLE change. It can be scary and hard. It takes work and is not always easy. But, there is NO quick fix or magic pill. Eating well, working out for a month, loosing weight, feeling and looking better is great but it wont last long if you stop once you reach your goals. There has to be a decision to make a lifestyle change in order to have sustainable results.
Good health is a journey not a destination. Take a step today...put down the cookie and choose fruit. Turn off the TV and go for a walk.
