Bit of a rough start to the week as I've spend majority of the day in bed sick🤒
Hoping to feel better tomorrow though! Until then I'll be going back to sleep😴 I hope you guys have had a better Monday than me💕
Back at the home gym after a WONDERFUL 30th BIRTHDAY VACATION!!!
I’m up a ridiculous 21.9 lbs! While this would be concerning to most, this is definitely normal for me. Having PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome) causes me to be insulin resistant, so I bloat and retain water SUPER easy.
Although I did a ridiculous amount of walking on vacation, after I week of eat whatever I wanted and only lifting once my body is totally off. So here’s to day one back at this #fitlifestyle
Italian beef with mushrooms and Roma tomato wrapped in romaine lettuce leaves. Super random, super yummy. #keto
Wait for it...that face you make when you smell that ripe dude lifting next to you in the gym😂😂 hit legs with @c_stancev26
today! Super high volume and changed things up with some resistance training! What a great lift!🤙🏼 probably won’t be able to walk for 5 days now but 🤷🏼♂️
After some lazy weeks, I’m back at it. I’m struggling in here. But I made it. I guess that’s what happens when you slack. Time to kick it in to high gear and get back in it.
💋Ok ladies, STOP NEGLECTING YOUR TATA’S, it’s important to train your chest!
TO BUILD A COMPLETE PHYSIQUE you can’t neglect an entire muscle group. This can lead to muscular imbalances, asymmetry, and possible injury. 🔥 YOU'LL BURN MORE FAT! The chest is a large muscle area, so training it will burn more calories than training smaller muscle groups. Therefore, chest exercises can lead to a better rate of burning fat! Now, how is that not convincing? 💙REMEMBER: Muscles respond best to a challenge. If you lift light weight, you'll be making very few fitness improvements and won't be doing much besides burning calories. Challenge your muscles with heavier weights for optimum results. (But know when too heavy is too heavy)
Give me a 👊🏻 if you started your LIIFT4 journey today with chest and triceps. Let’s see how much you can chest press by week 8 😁💪🏻 #lift4 #motivationmonday #chestworkout #tricepsworkout #nevergiveup #thisisyourjourney #strongissexy #liftweightstoburnfat #buildmusclenotexcuses #makinggains #workoutfromhome #healthypregnancy
Does this count as resistance training?
230kg for 1 a few weeks back. Light weight 💁🏽♂️💪🏽
Fall in love with the process.
Every day at the moment I’m seeing new and exciting improvements. These definitely help with keeping me on track. But way more than that, I love the process. I love gathering the data and ticking boxes every day.
Am I a little hangry sometimes? Sure am.. Are there days where I don’t really feel like training? Absolutely. But I love it. It is completely my choice to train the way I do and eat the way I do.
If you don’t love the way you’re doing things, change it before you hate it. If not, bury yourself in it and learn all you can!
When you don’t know what to do with your arms, just flex! 💪🏾
So.... let's talk about body dysmorphia😅. Before I started hitting the gym about two years ago I actually wasn't as insecure about my body as most people may think. I was really damn skinny but it didn't matter to me that much💁🏽♂️. I was about 130 pounds my sophomore year of highschool but I wanted to bulk up in order to hit the baseball further ⚾️. To do that, I started focusing on the main lifts like squat, bench press, all that shit🏋🏽. Then about a year in, when I really started to focus on lifting, and working out at a gym that wasn't my highschool, I found that pretty much everyone was bigger and more muscular than me💪🏽. This started to get to me and really pushed me to want to achieve what I thought was the perfect physique🙃. Every time I looked in the mirror from then on, which was sometimes 20-30 times a day, thoughts of, "Damn kekoa, you look small today" or "Damn, you look too fat today", seemed to always be on my mind💭. I was at a constant battle of wanting to gain or lose weight which definitely took a toll on my mental health😞. Eventually however, I became happy with my body because I accepted the fact that the "perfect physique" in my own mind was never achievable😳. You'll always be your worst critic whether it's in the gym or with your grades in school, or if it's in a sport you play🙈. Once you come to the realization that you're chasing an unachievable physique and you allow that to push you to always be working harder day in and day out, you'll come to accept yourself and be satisfied with your progress in the gym 😄.
This morning I did NOT want to get out of bed!! But I’m glad I did and crushed a great workout!!! Tomorrow I’m going to try a spin class and I’m SO EXCITED!! I’ve wanted to do it forever!! Hope you all have a great Monday 💓
It may not be a lot to you, but it means so much to me. Biggest I've ever been and most consistent I've stayed on this gym thing 👌🏿 I thank God for this progress
