Second, let’s chat about environmental toxins. Last week I made a rash decision against my intuition and moved into an apartment in downtown Berkeley. I quickly realized there was no way I could live there because of the environmental toxins bombarding my system. So I took the cue and got out of that situation asap, because my health is my priority atm. It’s crazy to think how many toxins were in my life before I made the connection that they were making me sick. These toxins are in cleaning products, personal care products, air fresheners, inorganic or processed food, paints, plastics, car fumes, nail polish, etc. Some common symptoms you might be having from toxins are: brain fog, depression/anxiety, insomnia, skin issues, fatigue, or itchiness. Even if your not having symptoms, the reality is these toxins are absorbed by our bodies, processed by our liver, and damaging to our cells. They can cause our cortisol to spike (stress hormone), increased inflammation, hormone imbalance, and damage to the gut. Unfortunately there are a ton of products that claim they are natural but still have harmful chemicals in them. If your in a position where your not feeling the best and you wanna do everything you can to preserve your health, do some research and be aware of the toxins around you. Switch out your products, stay away from synthetic chemicals, and do some detoxing to help your body get rid of them. If you need help figuring out what products to get or how to detox, holla at ya girl.
