Hey beautiful girls from my IG!
I lost count of how many times I’ve heard some girls saying they are afraid of training the upper body... I’m not gonna lie! I used to be exactly like that: having the wrong impression that by building some muscles I’d get too masculine. (This is for the average girls like me that’s not competing and just trying to be more comfortable with her body).
So let’s go straight to the point: here is a girl who trains upper body at least twice a week! Am I too masculine because of that? Since I started this journey I noticed I lost body fat and my arms got toned! How I trained and the way my diet plan was built help me not to bulk. (And just to make it clear, there is nothing wrong with bulking, this is just my choice and what I wanted for my body!).
And let’s be honest: nothing like showing your toned arms in a cute blouse right?!.... or seeing the improvement of your strength just by being able to carry heavy things! 💁🏼♀️💪🏻😜 #girlpower
Have an amazing Thursday! .

✨Rising Strong’s next Community Highlight is 14 year old, McKenna✨
This ongoing feature is to recognize amazing youth in the community and highlight role models for their peers to be inspired by.
✨McKenna joined cheerleading 3 years ago as she wanted to challenge and push herself and looked up to so many great athletes. As much as she has loved every minute of the sport, there have been some things she’s received backlash about because of being a cheerleader.
✨”I fight for being who I am and being a cheerleader because people don’t see behind the scenes where we work hard, sweat, shed tears and experience loss throughout the season. People think we just cheer on the sidelines, and that gets to me, but it doesn’t stop me from what I want to accomplish. I have dreams of going to NCA and Worlds and even Majors, but in my eyes, a stereotype doesn’t define or label us.”
✨McKenna is active in her community be attending the Empowerment Project - a monthly meet up in her school division where girls from all different schools get together to discuss topics such as kindness, friendship, goal setting and body image. She started coming to the program 3 years ago and was quiet and shy (I know this as I witnessed first hand running the Empowerment Project). Fast forward to this past year, McKenna has now found her voice, shows confidence and is an amazing role model for young girls.
✨“I have struggled with how I look, how I act and just who I am, but I am becoming who I want to be.”
✨McKenna has always been caring, quick to offer help or assistance to myself or to others and is always encouraging younger participants. She is now in high school and continues to come to the program (we most times lose participants once they’ve entered high school due to other interests), as she wants to be an active role model and become more involved with community initiatives.
✨“I want to tell younger girls to never let a label or stereotype tell you who to be. Be true to yourself, no matter what anyone says or think about you.”
✨Thank you for sharing McKenna! We are so proud to see you wanting to be an active positive role model in your community and we can’t wait to see you crush it in fut

Always be up to try new things! So when I was asked by @movementlabwpg
to join their dragon boat team of course I said yes. I was then asked to be the steers person. Not only have I not done this before but I had no idea what it would entail. Apparently it is a lot of responsibility and not an easy task!
After the first practice which was pretty much an hour of me cursing and turning the boat the wrong direction I had to decide if I would keep doing this. No I wasn't great at it. Yes it was super frustrating. Did I give up? Never! Unless they decide I am not the man for the job (wouldn't blame them😂) I will be there every practice to give it my all!
What I'm trying to say is, you won't be good at everything you try. Yes it sucks and is hard to swallow. However just put your head down and get the work in! Everyone starts somewhere. Tomorrow never comes so make the decision to say yes to the challenges life brings your way today!

If you haven't heard, I'm back in Canada. For the next two weeks, I'm visiting my hometown, before returning to Mexico.
It's funny... Growing up, I used to hate this place. I know that sounds harsh. But I believe it's a feeling that everyone in Winnipeg has felt at some point in their life.
This city is too cold.
This city is too small.
This city is in the middle of nowhere.
But honestly, the more I travel, the more I feel attached to this place everytime I come back.
It's a place where the beauty isn't found in big new skyscrapers or flashing lights. But it has a simpler sort of beauty, a timeless sort of beauty. Like a red sun setting over the big blue sky.
I don't know. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's good to be back. ---
📽️ My first video from Canada is now up! YouTube: The New Travel 📽️
Just hanging out with one of my besties Wiggles. I have to say I absolutely love pigs and at times makes it hard to eat bacon. I look forward to the day that I get to have a pig but for now I am fortunate to have a rescue farm @the10acrewoods
down the street from us in Anola where I can hang out with this cutie and her new friend Bouncer.
If your looking for a fun activity for your family and even yourself best over to 10 Acre Woods Rescue Farm, you'll probably find me there hanging out with the pigs and Sheldon the goat. I'll tell you about him another day! :)
The new Pembina Hwy Telus is now OPEN!! It’s sleek design is stocked with phones and accessories in time for back to school shopping! Come by and say hi 👋🏻!
The smoke from BC fires has reached Manitoba and created this hazy, all day sunset glow everywhere. What is causing concern out west is creating a perfect light for any photo-op in central Canada. I'm not sure how to feel about that Mother Nature.

Let's hear it for the bolers! 🚐🥚 We're totally obsessing over these classic 'egg-on-wheels' trailers currently rolling their way into the city this week to celebrate 50 years.
The boler has developed an almost fanatical following since it was first produced in Winnipeg in 1968. The party is taking place at Red River Exhibition Park until Aug 19.
Turn audio on to hum along to the catchiest tune you'll hear all day.
