In 2018, NWS client Mario fulfilled a lifelong dream by swimming alongside the largest animal to have ever lived: the blue whale. For him, taking to the water alongside these colossal cetaceans was “the journey of a lifetime”…
“It’s hard to explain how wonderful the experience of swimming with blue whales is. When I had my first sight of one of them, I just cried and laughed, it was so exciting. I could do that for my entire life, and I just couldn’t get enough. It was the greatest experience that I have ever lived!”

This image was captured off the coast of Sri Lanka by BBC videographer and marine wildlife expert Patrick Dykstra (@pictureadventure1
), who will be leading the majority of our blue whale trips over the next two years.
