The stuff I find on my calculator... people must be bored af in #math
Researchers estimate about 20% of the population deals with anxiety when it comes to math - does this include you? Check out this @tededucation
on why this happens and what you can do to combat this issue.
Students - especially high schoolers - are convinced that math is a performance for the teacher. Let’s free students of the restrictions we so often put on math and instead make math about understanding and flexibility. This little comic is a rendition of a conversation we had in a geometry class today inspired by Ben Orlin’s “Math with Bad Drawings” #studentcentered #studentsfirst #discussion #gslearning #equivalence #math
Don’t forget to join us this Saturday for #EnergyDayHouston

I can’t remember who the original idea came from, but we loved recreating these glue and chalk pastel pumpkins 🎃 •
My preschooler wasn’t super interested, but it was perfect for my art-loving kindergartener.
He drew a pumpkin shape on black paper using a pencil, then traced over it with clear glue. I helped him add some lines in the pumpkin. •
After it had dried overnight, he used chalk pastels to color inside the lines, then used q-tips to gently blend the colors. 💡 I read that you can spritz on a little hairspray to seal the chalk so it doesn’t smudge.
See my stories for the process—I love how different they are from the traditional pumpkin crafts!
