Have y’all prepped your meals for the week ahead??? Before starting my journey to “healthy” - meal prepping was so foreign to me 😅. I kinda went with the flow & ate whatever I felt like eating 😰. Coz of my crazy working hours, I found myself buying unhealthy takeouts everyday 😰. I felt so unhealthy, always felt tired and was so overweight.// Fast forward ... a week never goes by without mealprepping.
I select all the different meals I want to eat for the week. I always cook 5/6 different dishes and pre pack them in tupperware and freeze them.
*A TIP: Never microwave your meals from frozen coz they will be so soggy 🤢😷.// Put the meal you want to eat in the refrigerator the night before and let it thaw at fridge temperature.// The next morning, transfer to microwave safe container and carry it to work or school. Microwave to heat up just before eating ... 👌🏽👌🏽. That will preserve the flavour of your meals & they wont be soggy 🙌🏽

-The New York police officer who choked Eric Garner in 2014 has been formally served with departmental charges, an NYPD spokesman said Saturday.
Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who wrapped his arm around Garner's neck as the man complained he couldn't breathe, was served with the charges Friday night, according to city officials.
Pantaleo is seen in video from the scene tackling Garner from behind using a department-banned chokehold. He now faces two separate charges -- for use of a chokehold and for restricting the man's breathing, said an NYPD official with knowledge of the investigation.

Flexible dieting is often associated with the “IIFYM” (If It Fits Your Macros) style of eating, which often gets a bad rap because of the idea that as long as foods “fit your macros” any food source will do whether its cookies or kale.⠀
While this position does hold up from strictly a “Calories In” vs. “Calories Out” perspective, there are more variables at stake. ⠀
The main one is food quality. Food quality matters from a health, energy, sustainability and results perspective. Everybody knows that you can't eat "dirty" all the time and hope to make progress or feel good. ⠀
That’s why pizza, pop tarts, ice cream & skittles should not be the bulk of your diet. However, it’s totally cool if you fit them into your diet, and allow flexibility. This is where the "FLEX” side comes into play, as opposed to just “IIFYMing” it.⠀⠀
Flexible Dieting is the idea that 70-80% of your daily calorie intake should come from whole, healthy foods like lean proteins, fruits, veggies, whole grains and healthy fats. This also leaves 20-30% of your total calorie intake for "fun foods", like Oreo’s and donuts. Just make sure you're having enough protein in the 'clean' calories.⠀
On the other hand, trying to eat clean 100% of the time will only lead to frustration and eating disorders. It's not sustainable in the long run so you should find your own balance.

These little muffins are so yummy-just don't tell anyone they have zucchini in them!! It will be our little secret!! 🙊🙊🙊 Chocolate Zucchini Muffins
* 1 2/3 cup flour (all-purpose, gluten free blend or whole wheat pastry flour)
* 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
* ½ cup coconut sugar
* 1 Tablespoon chocolate Juice Plus Complete * 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
* ½ teaspoon baking soda
* ¼ teaspoon salt
* 1 1/3 cups grated zucchini
* ¾ cup almond milk
* 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
* 2 tablespoons maple syrup
* 1 flax egg, vegan egg, or pastured egg
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* ½ cup chocolate chips (dairy free)
INSTRUCTIONS * Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a muffin tin with parchment liners.
* In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, coconut sugar, baking powder, Juice Plus, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
* In another bowl, whisk together the grated zucchini, milk, coconut oil, maple syrup, flax egg, and vanilla.
* Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until combined. If using a gluten-free blend or whole wheat pastry flour, you may need to add more milk, as these are more absorbent flours. Fold in the chocolate chunks, reserving a few for topping. Fill the muffin liners with the batter and sprinkle the extra chocolate chunks on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

- 1 piece of wholemeal bread

Today I’m going to do a 4 part series on how lean people think. This is inspired by an email from @bryankrahn
who, in my opinion, is one of the smartest dudes in the industry.
Lean people get attention.
Actually they get scrutiny. Lots of it.
It’s because they’ve got something that most only dream of having – a healthy, strong, desirable body.
But with great power comes great responsibility. In this case, being in shape means enduring non-stop questioning from your not-so svelte colleagues.
“Do you eat breakfast? Or do you fast? Do you eat carbs? What about fat? Have you ever tried a low sodium, vegetarian, 'only eat things that are yellow and green' diet?”
Problem is, all these well meaning people are focusing on just the physical aspects of getting lean. And while diet and exercise are certainly the most important factors, you should also recognize some other things lean folks do.
1. Forget Goals – At Least the Way You Use Them
The last 10 years has been about the importance of goals. And for good reason – goals give generic dreams purpose by setting a deadline.
For many, an inflexible end date is the missing motivation needed to stop hitting the drive thru and stick to a plan. It will all be over soon enough. Then they can go back to their “normal” life.
However, lean people don’t think this way. Their “goal” is to be lean and in shape, for life. In fact, the very word “goal” is a misnomer – it’s just who they are. They’re lean and fit. Period.
Now they may still use dedicated periods where they turn up the heat and intensify their efforts, but they never shut it all off and abandon everything they’ve been doing. So when you’re lean, there’s no off-season. Just periods where you allow for a little less focus and a little more variety.
Stop seeing this process as a “thing” with an end date. Embrace it as a transformation.
