I will publicly address anyone who say anything like this.....so let’s begin.
1. His first sentence “ok if you dress like a hoe people won’t respect you” ummm so women’s worth is EXCLUSIVELY held by their clothes? A patch of fabric decides if my life matters? So if I wear baggy full coverage clothes I’d never get harassed? This logic is beyond stupid. Fully covered women are raped EVERY DAY. Children in children clothes are raped EVERY DAY. This logic of “clothes = respect” is literally a cover up for “women = NOTHING”. .
2. He then says the example of “a man wearing a clown suit to work” LOLOL??? I love how men come into my page and try to sound smart and it’s like ..? Who here thinks I’m advocating for nudity at work? Nudity at church? Nudity in court houses, policies stations etc ?? No one, right? Because that’s common sense. I’m advocating for respect for women. And to live my life how I want to without being raped. I understand in most settings people must act and dress a certain way (work, school) I thought people would just know that without it being said but damn some people are not as wise. WOMEN CAN WEAR WHAT THEY WANT DURING THEIR LIVES AND DESERVE RESPECT REGARDLESS. This is about respect not work place appropriate attire. Everyone should know you don’t get to fully express yourself anyway you want at work?? .
3. He goes one to act like this is all being said in the name of safety LOL. It’s better to safe? Yeah no shit. So why would that mean attack, degrade, dehumanize, and insult the rape survivors, in the name of safety, and ignore the rapists?? *man logic* victim blaming logic* change everything about you’re entire life so that men can keep trying to rape you often, but hopefully fail. Good one @modernmemist
4. Lastly let me address his “if you wear a lot of jewelry in a lonely place” lol ok jewelry is a precious and valuable object that people like to own. Explain to me how this makes sense when talking about me, my body, and my worth as a human being??? .
Your mindset is toxic af. You are rape culture. You are telling me that fabric is how everyone else decides my own worth. You assume clothes describe the person inside them.
