When you enjoy what you do, it doesn’t feel like work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It took me some time to realize that this has more applications than just finding joy with my 9-5 (I’m still working on that part...hence my journey to fitness coaching) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have found food that makes me happy to eat and it’s healthy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I would be happy to tell you all about it. Especially if you’re like me and suffer from a #milkallergy
We have it rooooouuuuugggghhhhh but I got you! DM me and we’ll chat!
It’s all or muffin now on this calorie filled lead up to Christmas with these savage little #minimuffins

O Christmas Tree...How lovely are your branches?🌲 - ‘feckin beautiful, go raibh maith agat’ 😋👊
Finding out that I was allergic to milk in my early 20s was quite the party pooper. I thought that I could pop a pill an hour before eating and I could enjoy all the dairy I wanted. Wrong!
I found out that being allergic to milk and being lactose intolerant were two completely different things. Being allergic to milk means your body doesn’t like to process the proteins in the milk such as whey; where as being lactose intolerant your body doesn’t process the sugars. I can’t speak for those who have a milk intolerance but I can say this, being allergic to milk in this day and age can be challenging; especially if you’ve been able to consume milk.
A little over two years ago I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel after dealing with all the side effects for years. It clicked in my head that I needed some assistance when it came to meal planning. At that time I ended up getting my milk allergy tattoo; it was cheaper than hiring someone to follow me around and slap the food I can’t have outta my hand. The program I joined was amazing!
No lie, I slowly drifted away from the program; occasionally working out here and there. And the milk intake started increasing again. Let me tell you, it wasn’t fun. Waking up in the middle of the night with unbearable stomach cramps that ended up producing shit coming out both ends (I know TMI) was the turning point. I’ve joined back into the community I was in and let me tell you, I don’t know why I didn’t sooner!
All I have left to say is Fuck You Dairy!! #girlswithink #foodallergies #milkallergy #lactoseintolerant #wristtattoo #scripttattoo #21dayfix

Whenever I think of #macandcheese
, I always remember how that poor Kevin lad from Home Alone never got to enjoy his ‘highly nutritious microwaveable’ version before protecting his gaf from those two clowns.
version took a little bit more work but it was well worth the effort. I was seriously surprised that @chocolatecoveredkatie
’s recipe could match the oul’ powdered-cheese calorie box I used to binge on at night time.
It is #clean
food too! 😲 I had to add some breadcrumbs on top though to dirty up this ‘filthy animal’ 💪👊
One thing I’ve noticed since my daughter’s food allergy diagnosis, is how much I turn to food for comfort. Let me just say how much I MISS my peanut butter. It was one of my favorites and it’s hard this time of year for me because I just wanna eat ALL the sweets and we obviously can’t do that anymore.
Thank goodness for @sunbutter.

Sometimes it’s okay to be both naughty and nice...
Lunch and holiday shopping - Skagit Valley Gardens in Mount Vernon, WA.
A while ago I posted about going out for afternoon tea, and having told the hotel numerous times prior and post booking about my milk allergy, on the day they didn’t cater for me. Instead I got a basic salad. After complaining they invited me back for a complimentary afternoon tea that would be suitable for me. Well I went back to Billesley Manor near Stratford upon Avon today and this is what I got. A few meringues, strawberries, Mrs Crimbles macaroon (slightly stale) and a shop bought gingerbread man. Plus a chunk of honeycomb (my teeth are still suffering now)! The sandwiches were nice. I must say, I was very disappointed again, at least I got to eat an afternoon tea this time, but no effort was made and it was all shop bought 🤦🏻♀️ #milkallergy #milkfreediet #notthatdifficult #allergies #milkfree #disappointing
A year ago this weekend, Steve and I hosted our final Denver pick up day, and did our final delivery runs. We’d lost our main income, that had allowed us to operate Sit By Me part time, for passion, rather than earnings. Our cottage kitchen bakery met many needs, in us, and in our Celiac and food allergy community. Some of you have been with us since day one, back in 2016, and some of you met us later on, in our Branson storefront. We are grateful to you ALL for investing in our story, encouraging us through three challenging years, and allowing us into your lives.💕
We’re back in Denver now, and being on hiatus hurts. We’ll return as soon as we can, as we miss our meaningful work, and connecting with others!
And the belly keeps getting bigger and bigger, but it’s #christmastime
so nae bother (as the good oul’ Scots say) 🏴 Mommy is trying to convert Sally into a #mincepie
lover too and finally persuaded me to have a go at baking them. So I grabbed a #veganrecipe
and threw them into the oven. They turned out amazing! Tastiest #mincepies
of all time 👊🌲
Well, after almost 28 months I finally let my son try something with dairy in it and he still reacted. We were at the museum and they had cookies and hot chocolate. Poor kid can never have gluten or dairy at kid’s events so I thought I was give it a try. He broke out in a rash on both his cheeks a few minutes after having it. I wish more kids events would have allergen friendly treats. I guess we will continue our gluten and dairy free efforts a little longer. #dairyfree #allergenmom #allergymom #glutenfree #allergy #kidsallergies #milkallergy #dairyallergy
New account (old one was lost!) calls for Friday introductions! Hi! We’re Angie & Steve! We’re bakers, but for now-
Steve’s a Canadian-American environmental scientist currently working in Manitoba.
I’m a writer from the Midwest, presently working full time on Lyme recovery.
Our family lives with multiple food allergies, as well as Celiac Disease, environmental allergies, & asthma.
Our shared passion is baking for people like us. Folks making everything from scratch in order to eat safely. Folks who often need a break! Our favorite things to make are birthday cakes for kids with allergies!
We operated a part time home-based Denver bakery for 2 years, then opened a dedicated GF allergy-friendly storefront in Branson.
Though we recently closed our Branson business & moved back to Denver to focus on our family’s needs, we hope to do some very limited baking soon!
😅Okay, that was long! Thanks for reading! Wishes for a nice weekend!💕
Peanuts get a lot of attention, but the most common food allergy for kids under 5? 👉 Milk.
In a study presented at the annual meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology in Seattle, researchers found that milk allergy affects over half of 1-year-olds who have food allergies, accounts for 40 percent of food allergies for kids 1 to 2, and is the most common overall food allergy for children under 5.
The general public needs to be more aware of milk allergies. They think it’s all peanut.

It’s December now which means Christmas season is in full gear! Christmas is such an interesting season isn’t it?!?For most, it brings feelings of nostalgia & joy. For some, it may be a time of sadness or a reminder of loss in your life. And for those in the food allergy community, it can be a season of fear. A fear of knowing there will be food at every holiday gathering & the anxiety that comes with that.
This Christmas, let’s try and focus on lifting each other up & let us ALL remember the real meaning & beauty of Christmas and all the joy that it brings 🎄💕🎁🙏🏻
Dairy and Soy free tacos. Much better than I had expected. I have to cut both diary and soy out of my diet as Ryder is allergic. I was told yesterday that I do this if I want to continue to breastfeed or switch him to a special formula. I’m going to give my diet a try and see how it goes. So overwhelming as I cleaned out 85% of the food we currently had in the house. I just need to learn what I can and can’t eat, but knowing my baby is hurting is making it easier to get on board. #dairyandsoyfree #breastfedbaby #milkallergy #newdiet #1monthold #newlifestyle
