In Philippians 1:12-14, Paul shows us that we can’t control what happens to us, but we can control how we frame it. We have to let God help us determine the meaning of what happened/happens to us and ask him to use our circumstances for good. Pain can serve a purpose. Ask God to show you what that purpose is. Look for his goodness. If you are struggling with any type of health issues, what is it trying to tell you/show you? Do you need to honor your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit? Less browsing, more experiencing Less comparing, more growing Less searching, more connecting . What if you added up all of the time spent on your phone? Scrolling through images, people, dates, whatever it may be. You’d probably be surprised how much time you spend and how much time could truly be dedicated to far better things and LIVING A BETTER LIFE. . Constantly needing to know what everyone else is posting, doing, saying and focusing less and less on our lives. Looking at everyone’s lives and so called “happiness” or “success” when we don’t want to look at our own. It’s so easy to spend time in apps and distract ourselves from the things we really need to be doing. Using apps for distraction, believing what we may find will make us happier, fuller, more attractive, more fit, more knowledgeable. The next best thing MUST be online and validation comes from numbers - likes, comments, followers. . I’ve recently come to terms with the fact that social media can be a coping mechanism. I realize that when I need to escape the reality of life and my depression that I always turn to my phone. I’m wasting time that I will not get back. Scrolling is NOT helping me progress, but rather regress. Why? Why is that? We scroll through images believing we will find some type of happiness or answer without realizing that real life is happening every second while we stare at our phones. Every second another second wasted. It’s more and more impossible to build true connections and meet real people when everyone is obsessed with a reel of fabricated, posed images and messages based on popularity. . Food for thought as we start a new week 🙌🏼

I love keeping my most-reached for oils displayed prettily where I use them ☺️ In the kitchen, this trio is currently in constant rotation: . - LEMON because I love nothing more than countertops that smell sparkly clean . - PURIFICATION because nothing neutralizes unsavory kitchen smells better, and in record time (thank you lemongrass!) . - THIEVES because the kids have started to bring colds and sniffles from school and we’re fighting back. How I feel after I take a good ACTIVE REST DAY 🔋💯✔️ #SuperCharged 🎾💪⚡️- Resting is just as important as Training because it is a big part of the equation [ TRAIN HARD + EAT HEALTHY + REST WELL = IMPROVE! ] In fact, training breaks down your muscles, but it is while you rest that your body recovers (that's when your muscles actually grow). However, that doesn't mean that you should sleep all day or just sit in your couch watching TV. I believe in Active Rest, which means that instead of going hard core or doing absolutely nothing, working out at a much lower intensity will help you recover more efficiently. Giving your body a little pump, increases blood flow to your muscles so that they can repair themselves even faster. A few great examples are: stretching, yoga, going for a walk, bike ride, swim, light gym session, etc. Light Days > Rest Days 💥I hope you have/had a great workout/practice and a great day! 😎✌️

🔍 We all know exercise is important, and I generally prefer the term "movement," as we think about all the forms in which moving can bring harmony to our minds and bodies (not just for weight loss). . . 🌿Movement is anything from that spontaneous game of tag that kids are notorious for, to that solo dance party you might do on a particularly good (or rough) day. It brings your heart rate up while releasing endorphins -- those 'joy' molecules. . . .🔎The #exerciseismedicine movement is gaining ground. The best summary guidelines out there, in my opinion, are from the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. Here are a few: . . .💡 To help reduce cardiovascular risk factors in children and youth (Pieles 2013) . .💡As an additional intervention (alongside other treatments) for chronic diseases like cystic fibrosis, type 1 diabetes, juvenile idiopathic arthritis (Rowland 2016; Sims-Gould 2018) . .💡To improve neurocognitive performance, especially in overweight youth (Bustamente 2016), including symptoms of ADHD (eg Huang 2018) . .💡For symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression (Puterman 2017; Yang 2018) . . 🌿We have to remember that in some neighbourhoods, taking a walk or run outside is not safe. As well, many families face financial and other (eg transportation) barriers around placing their kids in organized sports. welcoming fall with a thousand of my friends 🌻 • we went out of our way to this sunflower field on the way to our camping destination yesterday. i found out last year i drove right by the field without noticing it and was so determined to make it this year. @scpotter88 is a good sport, so as usual, he played along with my antics. 🙃 the beauty of the contrast stood out to me - the cool fall air and the bright sunflowers that remind me fully of summer heat. ive been playing with opposites in my yoga classes - vinyasa ending with a deep restorative, like a longer savasana but juicier. i think i’m pretty into it. contradictory but complementary. ⚪️⚫️

Lunges remain one of the key compound movements for muscle growth in the legs. They have become a staple in my leg routine but not always the easiest as it places a lot of pressure on the knee joint. But with some help from kines tape and knee wraps it's been great noticing an increase in stability of the knee as well as mobility and strength in the muscle 🏋️🏽‍♂️ . .
