Very rarely do we actually slow down to mindfully eat our food, be aware of our hunger levels, our body and its cues. ⠀ 📊Have you seen the hunger scale before? If not, here it is! It’s a great way to think about your physical sensation and mood as it pertains to hunger. Being more aware of hunger can help you: ⠀ 🔺manage portion sizes 🔺control emotional eating 🔺understand when to stop eating 🔺recognize your personal hunger cues ⠀ 🧠In order to lose weight, being mindful and eating slowly is needed to tune in and recognize the signs of fullness. ⠀ 🍴You should practice trying to eliminate hunger, NOT chase fullness. I made the mistake of chasing fullness for the first part of my dieting life and when I made the switch, I noticed a big change in my body. In other words, on the chart, the goal should be numbers 5-6. Ideally, you should feel as though you could workout an hour later without discomfort. ⠀ ❌Zones 1-3: Try to stay out of these zones to avoid binging, overeating, or becoming ravenous or lightheaded. ✅Zones 4-7: The sweet spot of fullness. Zone 5-6 is where you want to be after a meal. Like you could eat more but feel good 🤗 ❌Zones 8-10: Try to avoid this zone! Here are a few ways to help you do so: 1. Drink plenty of water. This helps keep you hydrated and can balance out any foods that are high in salt. 2. Workout in the morning. Getting in physical activity at the beginning of the day gets your metabolism moving, helps prevent overeating, and helps balance the extra calories from rich holiday meals. 3. Eat until you are satisfied. Avoid eating until you are stuffed. Remember one of the best things about a holiday is that you can go back for more later. 😉 • • These four holiday self care tips were great reminders for me, and I’m glad I could share them with you just in time for Thanksgiving. Pesquisas mostraram que índices elevados de autocompaixão foram capazes de predizer menor preocupação com o corpo e culpa ao comer, a despeito da autoestima. Na inclusão conjunta da autocompaixão e autoestima como preditoras no modelo, foi a autocompaixão que respaldou melhor na porcentagem da variância na preocupação corporal e com o peso. Finalmente, a autocompaixão foi responsável por mediar parcialmente a relação entre preocupação com o corpo e sintomas depressivos. Liss e Erchull (2015) observaram, em 306 mulheres, que a autocompaixão é maior quando menores é a vigilância corporal, vergonha corporal, depressão e atitudes negativas com relação ao comer. O estudo sugere que mulheres em risco para preocupações com o peso, o corpo e o comer com culpa podem se beneficiar da autocompaixão preventivamente. Estudos mostram que a preocupação com a forma física, a magreza e o peso têm levado mulheres a desenvolverem hábitos alimentares não-saudáveis. A promoção da autocompaixão pode servir como um contrabalanço em relação à tendência à desvalorização da própria imagem. Estudos demonstram forte relação entre autocompaixão e sintomas depressivos e ansiosos em mulheres, o que fortalece o entendimento da autocompaixão como uma promotora de saúde psicológica.
Real weight loss- sustainable weight loss, takes time and requires a psychological shift, something a diet doesn’t accomplish. When people tell me they want to go on a diet, or they want to lose weight, I pose this question to them: “Would you prefer to lose 10 kilos now and then gain 20 kilos? or would you prefer to lose it sustainably over 6-8 months and keep it off?” The answer is ALWAYS the latter. An 8 week program, eating no Carbs or drinking Shakes, is not the answer. 💖BANANA & AVOCADO NICE CREAM💖 • Don’t mind me, I’ll just be over here drooling over these! • Ingredients: 4 ripe @australianavocados , deseeded and roughly chopped ¾ cup raw honey or Rice malt syrup 1 cup coconut milk (or almond milk!) 2 bananas, sliced into thick chunks 4-6 large mint leaves • Directions: 1. In a strong blender, add avocado flesh, honey, coconut milk, bananas and mint leaves. Blend until SMOOTH. (You want a completely, chunk free consistency) 2. Place mixture into a freezer safe bowl and freeze for a minimum of two hours (overnight is preferable!) 3. This is a phrase I’ve been saying a lot lately. It feels soothing to me. It feels inspiring. And heck, it feels - well - downright hopeful. . And I can get down with hope. . Hope helps us heal. It helps to keep us going. To keep us fighting. To keep us standing up for what we believe in. And to rest assured. To find the light in the dark. To be courageous enough to open our hearts and minds and see things through another lens - a lens of compassion. And to show back up. . If you’re here, reading this, you likely follow a fair amount of other anti-diet, food freedom, body respecting folks (which I so love!). But this means you likely are covered with the reminders to enjoy your holiday, eat all the food & set boundaries! Of course, they’re much more eloquent than that but hopefully you get my point 💜 . But maybe, just maybe you need a reminder about hope ✨ . Hope has always been something in my darkest times that has kept me fighting on, even when I was convinced there was no more fight left in me. Somehow there always was. . And there’s fight and lots and lots of beautiful wholeness left in YOU too. So I encourage you to find some hope. ORGULLOSA DE MÍ MISMA🥰. - Hoy era uno de esos días que cuando te levantas y te das cuenta de todo lo que tienes que hacer, ya piensas que no te va a dar la vida para tanto. Y a decir verdad, no sé cómo lo he hecho..., pero lo he conseguido!!✌️😄. - He cargado las pilas con un desayuno completo, luego coche y trabajo en el centro, caminar, hacer compra, venir a casa, comer sano, irme al gym y darle duro a las piernas durante 1h más 20’ de cinta, volver y merendar, arreglarme e irme a Valencia de nuevo para asistir a la formación de Mindfuleating (lo bueno es que hoy la sesión de meditación la he hecho en el curso) y de regreso tenía auténtica hambre real, así que tocaba una cena buena y saludable. Y para relajarme del día tan movidito, mi té de frutos rojos y mi premio (una onza de choco negro 0% azúcares añadidos)🍫.
