I remember those mornings vividly waking up immediately dreading the day wondering if this was it. Was I wrong to want more out of life, wrong to expect more out of this life. I mean I had to believe that there was more, I had to. After all there had to be a reason I was given this life; some purpose to my being here. You see I had just been diagnosed with what felt like round 500 of another set of diseases/diagnoses (fun fact my body doesn't work like a human body is supposed to), and all of the diagnoses had started to take a toll on my mental state. I couldn't believe that I was going to have to give up everything I had planned for my life, everything I had worked so hard for. Then one day it all changed when I decided enough was enough. What changed you might be wondering, well I was introduced to the world of coaching, and it was an instant love affair. I realized I had found my new calling, ensuring no women ever felt the way I had ever again. Ensuring that every woman knew she could be confident, empowered, and a leader in her life. To ensure that every women knew she could step into her power and demand more; that she could have more. She could live a life that fulfilled her, fueled her soul, and ignited her passions and purpose. Now it is my purpose to be the guiding light for women all over searching for more, and I couldn't be more excited by my path now. One of the ways I cope with chronic migraine is having a bunch of comforting go-to’s that I have control over when I it feels like I don’t have *any* over my physical pain 🤯 doing these things reminds me that my pain is temporary + I still have some powaaa💥 #onedayatatime #motivationmonday #mindovermigraineish
to start the week! 🧡 We’re taught to put so much ahead of our own well-being. Which conditions us to believe that when we do take steps towards bettering ourselves or work towards healing that we should almost feel guilty. Or that taking care of ourselves doesn’t count as “real work”.
Like taking time to go to the farmers market or make juice in the morning, even taking supplements or running a bath is viewed as less productive than time spent on emails, work meetings and the never ending to-do lists.
And I’m here to tell you not to fall for this trap. Every step you take towards bettering yourself or healing is meaningful. Every small step you take is progress towards a better more fulfilled life... people will notice, they will catch on and they will want to know what you’re doing. One of my favorite tools in therapy is this feelings wheel - it can be a helpful aid in identifying emotions, gaining clarity on our emotional experiences, and enhancing our emotional intelligence. We are verbal creatures and having the words for our experiences is a powerful way to bring relief, comfort, and a sense mastery to situations that can sometimes feel out of our control -
In my personal and professional life I've noticed people more easily identify a basic emotion first - for example, anger - but upon exploration realize they actually feel betrayed, hurt, disappointed, or rejected. When you dig deeper, you get closer to your own experience. Doing this can help us come up with ways to remedy conflicts in healthier ways. Think about it - what would it be like to say, "when you did _____, I felt _____" as opposed to, "you always do ______, I'm tired of ____" ?

It’s not what happens to you but how you react to it that matters.
Everyone encounters negativity, stress, pain, hardship and barriers at some point in their life. It is true that some people encounter more than others but regardless of who you are, how you react will have a profoundly positive or negative affect on your life.
Many people are too quick to react and blame others instead of looking into themselves and admitting a mistake, or at the very least, taking accountability for their part in the issue. Yes, sometimes we are purely the subject of pain caused by someone else, but clininging to to the idea that all of our issues are caused by other people or things will not bring peace to our lives.
Whether the incident was 5 minutes or 5 years ago, I encourage you to stop and reflect. You have to make a choice to change your immediate reactions if you want to better deal with the tough times in your life. You have the ability to take those negative comments that you hear, the negative encounters you have in a day and the stress and pain that you feel and channel them into something positive. You have the ability to use those experiences to become stronger, overcome your obstacles and confront your fears.
Honestly the most amazing thing is that every single day YOU have the opportunity to choose to release from the past and move into the future. I challenge you today to take a negative experience, interaction or thought that you may have, and channel it into something positive.

I just want to remind you today that it’s ok if you don’t have everything figured out. If you don’t know how you’re going to get from where you are to where you want to be, it’s ok. If you’re not sure what you want to do with the rest of your life, it’s ok. If you still don’t know what your purpose is, it’s ok. .
A lot of us drive ourselves crazy trying to figure out every single step that we need to take in order to reach our goals. Or, we’re so overwhelmed with the stress of not knowing what we want to do with our lives that we stay paralyzed and complacent in our current situation (🙋🏼♀️been there). .
So listen. I promise you you don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to take ONE step at a time. And here’s a secret- things are most likely going to happen in ways you can’t even think of yet- which is why spending time and energy dwelling over the “how” is so pointless. .
We’re coming up to the New Year when everyone declares the big changes they’re going to make- but why don’t you start today? It’s Monday- get yourself a huge, cozy cup of coffee and decide on the ONE thing you can do today to get yourself closer to where you want to be. It can be small, like making sure you get your workout in or doing some research into something you’re thinking about pursuing. Or it can be bigger, like sending that email or making that phone call to get you connected with someone who will help you get to the next step. It all counts.
Whatever it is, let go of needing to know how it’s all going to work out and just focus on taking the next right step. You’ve got this, I promise. ✨

If you can’t handle confrontation, don’t waste your time being mad. Especially if it’s something small, pick some flowers, eat some ice cream, have a good cry and move on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If it’s something huge, ask the universe for guidance and peace and then be open to letting go and trusting the process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ultimately though, the buck stops with you.
