For my entire life I’ve hated my legs. I was a child swimmer for my county and a ballet tap jazz and modern dancer who essentially ‘trained’ 5x a week. My sports of choice all were leg dominate and required strong powerful muscles 🌀 then came the rise of skinny chic and the thigh gap trend which coincided with the height of my anorexia and i was able to shrink my strong healthy legs to size of twigs 🌀
Looking back over photos of then and now - this being last month on my Italian honeymoon - I am utterly in awe and amazed by the power and beauty of the human body 🌀
How over time, patience and love cells can restore, muscles regrow and health restore 🌀 due to dancing and working a lot in retail I grew up basing my worth on what my body looked like. Whether I fitted the mound of what was popular. Whether I had the ‘right’ appearance. I don’t regret those years because it’s thanks to them I’m now at the place where I have a deep rooted respect for my body and know I will never abuse her again to fit culture trends 🌀
My legs have regained their muscle tone, their power and strength and I’m no longer ashamed of them@or
try to hide them. 🌀 their strength allow me to run fast, cartwheel, hold yoga poses for 20 breaths, their power allow me to walk, hike and adventure around the world, they carry me to the places and people I love and most importantly are my puppy’s favourite pillow ☺️ My childhood was a magical fun and active one I would never swap or take back, nor is the messy years in between trying to shrink myself and disappear from the world, because both have made me who I am today, inside and out 🌀 we all get bad body image days for sure, but before you vow to never eat a carb, or cut calories, pause > think of all the wonderful effortless things your body does for you > write them down > and give her the praise and gratitude she truly is worthy of 🌀 #bodypositivity #throwbackthursday #allbodiesaregoodbodies #youarebeautiful

But.....not the Buffalo 🐃.
The Buffalo do the opposite 🔥.
They gather together, get their heads down, and start walking directly IN TO the eye of the storm.
They keep walking no matter what....until they’ve walked right through it.
Coming out into Light.
Coming out the other side.
This is what it means to be a warrior.
And we all have that spirit within us.
ALL OF US.
And I mean YOU!
So Don’t Run my loves.
Don’t Hide. Instead Breathe.
Be the Buffalo.
You are stronger than you think.
Face it. See it. Own it. Feel it.
Whatever ‘IT’ is....you CAN move through it.
Write, Sing, Cry, Shout, Dance, Breathe.
Make a stand for who you are.
This is the way to heal.
This is way to grow.
This is your chance to let something go.
If your facing something challenging today.
Be it big or small.
Remember the Buffalo.
Draw on that spirit.
And stand in your Warrior.

Patience is not simply the ability to wait, but what you actually do while waiting.
Waiting for something you strongly desire to happen can be frustrating and overwhelming, but focussing on what is not here yet, will only make the wait unbearable.
Instead, think about using that time to look inside of you, to prepare, to practice the best version of yourself and to become fully ready to embrace the change that sooner or later is about to happen.

We decided when we moved into our new home that not a single toy was to have permanent residence in the lounge/dining area. I wanted the lounge at the end of the day to be uncluttered, spacious and stress free. A home should be just that - a home. Not an adult sized doll house where every room has a toybox and multiple soft toys. My house is an absolute tip everyday as the girls bring out every toy imaginable into the lounge to play with which is totally cool with me but every night they all make there way back to where they came from. A simple rule that we stick too. Simplicity for me isn't about style. It isn't about having the LEAST. I don't do it to "fit in". I see these Instagram pages that have everything black and white and perfect. For some they do it because its been a trend.
For me it brings Harmony. It brings calmness. Its brings a quiet mind.
I was brought up by two organised hoarders,a family of 8 in a absolute chaotic, loud and busy home. For me to get to the point that I am now took work. I had to unlearn things. I had to stop mindless shopping. Stop bringing meaningless items into my home. I had family asking in terms I won't repeat but basically what the hell I was doing. I was told I NEED a more towels. You NEED more then 8 mugs. Why are you getting rid of "good stuff". Stuff. It was just stuff. Stuff that made me busy. Stuff that stressed me out. I had to clean the thing, dust the thing, repair the thing then move the thing when we shifted. When my parents shifted it took them 7 full days. It was I'm sure very stressful. But they still can't see through their stuff. They feel that they have to hold on to it just.in.case. I feel everyone has those just incase items. Items we don't use but feel good holding on to. I got rid of those just incase items and I haven't needed them to this day. I can't change people nor do I want to. I want them to change because THEY want to. Show them living with less and living with what brings you joy gives you so much more. More of everything that's important.

I am overwhelmed by how the universe and my higher self is providing everything my heart has hoped and dreamt. Collecting my clothing line after this little heart opening practice. Driving to the festival that changed my life 6 years ago. Driving there IN the car I have always dreamt of. To teaching yoga to the community that helped ground into my true and divine self. 🌍 💕🌸 I AM GRATITUDE!! This year has been one of the toughest lessons of my path today. It was if I was knocked down over and over again, just to be tested on how many times I would get up. Flooded by emotions today I am so grateful. My heart is FULL, my cup is FULL. The amount of love that is pouring into my life right now is so beautiful that it is overwhelming. We think it’s overwhelmingly to be bombarded with all of the true, hard and divine lessons. That leave us frazzled and introspecting all the way back up our heart....Imagine being overwhelmed by this total opposite. Overwhelmed by all the right and all the light in your life. It makes each and every earthly lesson so damn worth it. Because damn , “ I DESERVE THIS”. And guess what, so do YOU!! ☺️💕 See you all on Sunday morning 9-10am @earthdancejhb

I’ve had some new followers recently (thank you ALL so much for your follows & likes on here- I really appreciate it!🙏🏽👍🏼🙌🏼💜). I want to inject some positivity, raise awareness about mental health, banish the stigma surrounding it, (particularly in the Asian/Indian community!), & promote the amazing benefits of mindfulness! I lived my whole life thinking I’d be ‘immune’ from experiencing unhealthy stress, anxiety & mild depression-going through life’s ups & downs by soldiering on, thinking I was ‘strong’ & ignoring my feelings- but a year & a half a ago an injury changed my life and I found everything challenging to cope with. With time, CBT and mindfulness, I feel so much better today. Mindfulness has changed my mindset & life in a positive way! 😊🌸💜
