The words we use play a role in the pleasure of that habit more than anything
We have experienced situations where we say "I'm tired" before the gym
Or "I dont feel like it" before working out
Healthy habits are also about pleasure in thought
And while some thoughts don't feel pleasurable and are too off-base from what we are actually feeling, there are more accurate thoughts that can be spoken that
describe our mood in that moment without bringing up a negative irritation and expectation
And release how we are "supposed" to feel before engaging in a habit
So it may not be "this will be 😁fun
Which would feel false or fake
But something smaller that habit that you can look forward to
So give it a shot this week when you hit resistance in your healthy habit!
🌟Quick life update: I have decided to put a pause on YouTube. As some of you know I started a new version of Real Talk with Whitney that was created as more of a talk show with fun facts, positive news and motivation.... but here’s the thing guys after only 3 episodes in I found my self stressed out and not enjoying what I was doing.... after a day of soul searching and reaching out to my support people I decided to go back to the drawing board.
Because the most important thing is that I ENJOY the journey. That I stay TRUE to my PASSION. That I bring my A game every time and that I deliver my message the best way possible for myself, but most importantly for those who are ready to make the choice to change ! 🌟
The new ideas and videos are in the works and I am already feeling so much happier and at peace about it ! So stay tuned folks!

Anyone else feel like Sunday’s invoke a bit of overwhelm? I try my best to use it as a day of rest, but I honestly feel so unsettled! Learning how to relax has been a skill I’ve needed to work at and one I have to consciously choose.
It could also be because I’m like “hey Laura, on this day of rest, you know it’s great if you spend the day planning for the week ahead. You’ll be less stressed out all week! That includes meal prep, mapping out work projects, cleaning, and trying to do all the things on your own time”

Als ik denk aan de momenten die voor mij life changing zijn geweest is er één ding wat er voor gezorgd heeft dat ik nu kan zeggen dat ze life changing waren; ik maakte een beslissing.
Ik maakte de beslissing dat ik het ging doen. Ik maakte de beslissing dat ik mijn doel ging bereiken. Hoe dan ook.
Of ik dat linksom of rechtsom ging doen wist ik nog niet en was op dat moment totaal onbelangrijk. Elke échte verandering begint met een beslissing. Een harde afspraak met jezelf dat je gaat doen wat er voor nodig is om je doel te bereiken.
De reden waarom veel van onze dromen en wensen nooit onze realiteit worden is omdat we geen beslissing maken. We wensen het wel, maar beslissen niet écht. We laten ruimte open voor andere mogelijkheden. En zolang je geen harde afspraak met jezelf maakt zullen die andere mogelijkheden er voor zorgen dat het slechts wensen blijven.
Wat is het verschil tussen mensen die stoppen met roken en nooit meer een sigaret aanraken en mensen die stoppen met roken maar na een paar maanden weer beginnen? De mensen die na een paar maanden weer beginnen hebben in hun hoofd ruimte open gelaten voor de mogelijkheid dat ze ooit toch weer beginnen. Het hoeft maar een heel klein kiertje te zijn, maar zolang die deur toch nog een klein beetje open staat zit 'ie dus niet dicht.
Je begrijpt natuurlijk ook dat er na de beslissing nog wat moet gebeuren om het life changing te laten zijn. Je moet actie ondernemen. Je moet doen én laten wat er voor nodig is om je doel te bereiken. Dat kan een reden zijn waarom we geen beslissing durven maken. We piekeren al van te voren over hoe we het moeten doen en zijn bang dat het ons niet gaat lukken. Maar wat nou als ik je vertel dat de beslissing maken het moeilijkste gedeelte is? En wat nou als ik je vertel dat als jij de beslissing gemaakt hebt je alles wat daarna komt gaandeweg zult leren? En wat nou als ik je vertel dat ik je daar gewoon bij kan helpen?

It all starts with a good nights rest.
A new week, a new day and a new opportunity to thrive and feel alive. It all starts with you taking care of yourself and giving your mind, body and soul time to rest.
Turn off your devices. Turn off the TV and let your mind be still. Over stimulation to technology is what causes so much stress and anxiety in the modern world.
You’ve got to know when to shut things off and connect with yourself. It’s okay to not be stimulated and entertained all the time!
Give yourself time before bed to prepare your mind and soul for rest. Meditate, journal, read something that calms the soul or simply just sit in silence and allow your mind to gently calm down.
A good nights rest is your best defence against feeling stressed out, anxious and unmotivated. It’s time for you to start managing your energy levels, so you can perform and function at a high level daily and feel energetic and passionate about your life.
Have a few simple routines and rituals you run in the evening or before you head to bed, that allow you to get a good nights rest every night. Do what works best for you, but remember the name of the game is ENERGY!
Consistent rest is the key and no doubt everyone is going to ask me the most asked question in the world... “Joe, how many hours sleep should I get?”
So the simple answer is that everyone is different and everyone’s lifestyle and energy needs are different. I generally say that you want to get between 6 hours to 8 hours of consistent rest every night.
The “consistent” part is what determines your energy levels. Not the hours of rest. So that means, you have to be in bed at the same time and up at the same time every day. Your body responds well to patterns and routines and it is through those basic routines that you find greater levels of energy, over time.
If you are making great decisions with your diet, exercising for energy, (rather than trying to gain muscle or lose weight) and looking after your mental and spiritual state. Then you will naturally have more energy and be able to live off slightly less sleep than someone who is not managing those other key factors.
And in that MOMENT she decided...
✨Your whole life will change from a decision you make in one moment✨
And each and every moment you get to decide what that decision will be, will it take you where you want to go? Or keep you where you already are? Be sure to ask yourself those 2 questions on repeat all this week but in the meantime.. .
