: Dwarf Male Fighter "Diesel Brawnanvil" (021)
With his trusty (and rusty) war shovel, Diesel has earned fame for his courage and altruism, and notoriety for his practice of digging graves for everyone he kills. On the field of battle, his guile astounds both friend and foe, and regardless of whether or not his blows actually land, his intimidating presence is always outsized. He is the party's only lawful good character, and was elected treasurer, a post he runs quite charitably. He may not be well-read but he is wise in his own ways, often going out of his way to help the simple and downtrodden. Just don't get on his bad side, this dwarf succesfully wrestled a dragon once.
Dirty and rusty was the request here, so I really unleashed a lot of filth, using Citadel's technique for detailing rust, and a brush splatter spraying technique I've always loved using. This is the forth Hero Forge mini I've painted for friends and colleagues, created for our D&D 5e campaign, which takes place in the Dragonlance setting. I painted him at the same time as the (forthcoming) following post of a new version of Retch (see 002 and 022 for the differenct iterations). I have been gradually adding Citadel paints and techniques to my process, switching primers (great move) and applying their shades instead of the previous of MSP washes (each has its own use). Also added a skull from the very awesome Citadel skulls pack, it doesn't quite scale with whatever was set in Hero Forge, but who cares, it could be a halfling skull.
