Before leaving for Prague I made a new batch of DIY all natural purpose cleaner. I normally use some orange peels, alcohol, apple cider vinegar and warm water and let everything sit for a few days into a glass container. A simple, natural and cost effective way of keeping my house nice and clean 🧼 🍊
is also #zerowaste
(alcohol and vinegar are usually sold in glass bottles) and the orange peels can be composted afterwards 🧼🍊
There’s nothing better than coming back from a trip into a tidy and clean apartment. I like to follow a simple routine before traveling to make things easier before during and after my trip. You can find out more about it by reading my latest blog post! you know where to find the link 😉
Letting go of stuff can sometimes be hard. I use the KonMari method when I declutter and ask myself if this thing really sparks joy or give me some kind of value in life. If it does, I keep it. If it doesn't, I let it go.
Like many others, I had a hard time of letting go of sentimental items such as photographs, yearbooks, concerts tickets, letters, postcards, gifts I never used and stuff from my childhood etc. Even old clothes that was holding on a memory, like the dress I only wore for graduation and now only took space in my closet.
Here’s what I did:
▪️ I packed my sentimental items in boxes and put them away. Time past by and I forgot all about it. Later on when I opened the box I realised that I actually haven't missed them all. I could live a life without the stuff. That made it easier to let it go.
▪️ If I have stuff I really want to keep, I put them in my "memory box". I recommend you to keep all your sentimental items at one place. You know where you can find it and it's a little bit more organised and less cluttered. It also makes it more fun to go through.
▪️ If you have something you really want to remember before you let go, take a picture of it or scan it to have a digital copy. Photos and paper are great to digitize.
So far I've never regretted something I've let go. The feeling of living lighter beats everything. It also feels better if someone else can get more use of my stuff. In my case it was that white dress I wore for graduation only once. I sold it to someone who probably got more use of it.
I'm not saying that you should let go of everything you own. You decide what you want to keep. Minimalism is a very personal journey and a great way to get rid of the excess that's keeping you from focusing on the important things in life.
▪️ Do you struggle with letting go of sentimental items? ▪️
🚶♂️Even a small change does me the 🌍world of good 🤓
A balanced meal is an ice cream in both hands right? 🍦🍦 Unfortunately my day was less ice cream and sunshiny today and more stress and dentist vist-y.
Here's a gentle reminder for you: 🔸what you see is just a picture, there is so much more going on behind the scenes.🔸 DON'T compare yourself to the pretty pictures you see...they're only half the story.
He saw me stir my coffee and say “good” ONE time. You can’t tell me my boy isn’t smart.
Couldn’t enjoy my icecream alone! One of my best friends and auntie.
Heading out to a concert tonight🤘🏼
Sunrise over Phuket Thailand. I hope everyone had an amazing Earth Day🌿
Meet...the Travelling Bag of Clothes ♻️ I've heard about this idea from friends in other Buy Nothing groups - a bag of clothes that moves around the group, people put in what they don't need and take what they like. (If you don't know what a Buy Nothing group is, where have you been? I talk about them ALL the time! 😂 Google it. I'll wait right here 😃) I had some clothes in my wardrobe that I no longer wear often but I didn't want to take them to the charity shop. I always worry stuff won't sell and will end up landfilled.😔 So I decided to set this up to pass around instead. It means people can try on things at home, see what goes with what, and worst case it can still go to the charity shop at the end. Hopefully not! My neighbour added in some tops and it's off around the suburb. Fingers crossed it comes back round emptied and refilled! ♻️👕👖👗
Do you shop second-hand?! Our entire outfits are thrifted/hand-me-downs (minus the hat, we have never thrifted hats.... we just can’t go there 😭🤯 lol)
Where do we source second-hand?
• hand-me-downs (the best!!!!!!!! And preferred by us because hey, sustainable for our wallet)
• clothing swaps
• thrift stores
What has been your best second-hand find?!

Come say hi this Saturday. Hoping for some beautiful weather for good shopping in Walnut Creek.
We had a picnic and it was just all v cute. Deleted social media apps from my phone for the long weekend and I fully recommend. Needed a mind and body reset 🌼🌱 #minimalistlifestyle #igersnorfolk
I have a CONFESSION to make. I fell off the wagon hard with my nutrition plan this past weekend. I probably ate more ice cream and desserts in a 4 day time than I have in the past 2 months combined. I ate and ate and ate some more.
It was 1,000% my own doing. I could have said no. But, I fell into my old habits of eating whatever I wanted, even with the knowledge that I probably wouldn’t feel so great afterward. Not to mention the fact that I was being a total glutton, which leads me away from God.
Honestly, I’m quite embarrassed. I’m supposed to a health coach, a good example. But, this just goes to show that we’re all HUMAN. We all fall off the wagon.
How we react is what makes all the difference. Me? I’m choosing to START FRESH. I’m not going to let a weekend of poor food choices ruin my entire week or month.
Today, I’ve followed my nutrition plan to a T and I’m sticking to it. I want to be a good example to others. I want to glorify God by how I treat my body. So, I’m going to take the necessary actions, even though it’s not the easiest.
What are you going to do when you find yourself in a rut? Are you going to stay there? Or are you going to pick yourself up, leave the past in the past and start fresh?

I made a few small changes to our son's room, his bathroom and the "command center". Did a quick purge of old items that either grew old, no longer fits or plainly just didn't serve it's purpose any longer. His bedroom just feels lighter and less cluttered. The bathroom feels brighter against the dark walls and the command center is just free of the "tight" feeling from the games being in the shelving. One thing you should know is that I like to change things up frequently. It drives my husband mad but it brings me relief and gives the feeling I can "breathe"!! Very satisfying, indeed.

Remember that time George Carlin said "a house is just a place to keep your stuff while you go out and get more stuff" and we laughed because it's funny to exaggerate in comedy except... I totally used to.. actually do that...#thatnostufflife
I love to wear this minimal outfit for a casual Friday at the office. What occasion would you wear this outfit?
I came across minimalism almost 5 years ago when I found the (former) youtuber @lightbycoco
who shared her minimalist lifestyle and home. I was so amazed by her lifestyle of living lighter.
This was around the same time when I moved from apartment to apartment, back home with my parents and then to a new city miles away. Packing and unpacking my stuff (in what felt like 1074839 boxes) was stressing me out and mentally draining me. How couldn’t it when I moved 8 times in 8 years? Not to mention all the hassle of moving. It felt like the stuff owned me.
Something really changed inside me 3 years ago when I saw the documentary Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things. I got so motivated when I heard other peoples stories.
That was when my declutter process took a whole new level and I started to practice minimalism for real. I guess I’ve sold and donated about more than 60 % of my belongings since that. I also got rid of toxic relationships. During the past year I've been really conscious when it comes to bringing new stuff into my home.
It's been a long process and it has taken me years to where I'm at right now.
✨ Minimalism is so much more than letting go of stuff. It have helped me see life clearer. I now have a different focus. I know myself better. I’ve cleared out my goals in life, identified my values, found more time to do things I’m passionate about. I’m healthier and happier. ✨
I'm curious on your approach to minimalism? 💚 Please share your story. I would love to hear!

Dnešní svět na nás klade velký nároky. Buď in, kup si nejnovější iPhone, chod oblikanej podle fast fashion, kup si nový auto.
Hmotný věci z vás nedělají lepší lidi. Nepotřebujeme Apple Watch, nepotřebujeme čtyři pandory na jednu ruku. Nepotřebujeme tolik hmotných věcí, které máme. Jsou nám k ničemu. Zbytecne hromadníme věci, nutíme obchodníky aby vytvářeli tohle zbytecne množství věci a jsme to my, kdo ničí tuhle planetu.
Ticho okolo sebe. Ticho ve své hlavě, pomalu uklidnit svůj tok myšlenek, uvolnit tempo a zklidnit celé tělo. Zkuste se na chvíli zastavit, uklidit se do ticha a přemýšlet. Třeba přemýšlet o tom proč my, lidé, kteří mají největší inteligenci ze všech savců na zemi, ji ničíme nejvíce.

It’s a thing for me. Every week I clear out all of my texts, calls, emails and more... As I am clearing my call list I save any numbers that I need. As I am going through texts I save any dates that were discussed in my planner.
It’s just habit at this point because I’ve been doing it for so long.
Do you feel like digital clutter is clutter or is it something that doesn’t bother you?
My real life minimalism is mostly messy. Like really messy...and sticky. 🤔🤷🏻♀️Why is my house always sticky?
A few years ago I wouldn’t dare call myself a minimalist.
First, because I wasn’t one.
But second, even if I were pursuing a life of less back then, I’d assume it needed to be executed perfectly before I was qualified to call myself a “minimalist.” .
Striving for perfection had always been my go to. And yes, it was exhausting.
Adopting a grace based approach to minimalism has helped me shed my expectations and journey even further than I ever could with perfectionism in tow.
Getting it wrong doesn’t exclude you. It makes you a real life minimalist on a journey toward a meaningful life, not an empty one.

Ever feel like you pretty much have to sell your soul in order to keep your house clean?
I did for a REALLY long time!! As a new mom, I found it terribly hard to find the balance of being present with my kids, but not letting my house get trashed in the process.
It seemed like I had to sacrifice one for the other.
Call me crazy but I wanted both.
I wanted to enjoy a clean, organized house, AND be present with my littles.
Up on the blog I'm sharing ”How To Keep Your House Clean Without Selling Your Soul In The Process”
For the mama who is overwhelmed by the mess!!! I see you, friend 💕 *link in bio*
Generally speaking, I prefer a quiet kitchen—I don’t have a blender, food processor, stand mixer, coffee maker, and other common appliances. In the spirit of full disclosure, however, I recently acquired an Instant Pot. I’m not great at planning ahead, and the quick and hands-off cooking of beans and whole grains has made it so much easier to make a healthy dinner on busy weeknights. A minimalist kitchen is finding a balance between having all of the things and none of the things, and mindfully choosing what fits your needs. Which appliances are must-haves for you, and which can you live without?

I have been holding on to these stones for a very long time. I love their satin matte finish, the veins of white and brown make me think of the blackened branches of manzanita I have all over my home. Agates from @clamshellgems
My husband and I moved to the pacific NW from Arizona for school in 2006 and as much as we have rooted in here and call it home, the desert will never leave my bones. The contrast of the intense greens and the bare rock and dusty vistas back home feeds both sides of me.
By the light of the moon
We dreamt of sand and stones and sun
We put our feet on bare earth
and walked one in front of the other
and forever being called
daylight waking us
the dry air
sweet to taste
lifting our hair
and tickling our chins
always calling us
caves of all kinds - part 1
