The difference in proper versus improper joint positioning determines if you’re even recruiting muscular tensions throughout that entire sling for effortless power versus loading muscles independently or straight loading joints and tendons 😬 In Mark’s case for many years the compound effect of postural distortions led to movement inefficiencies inevitably leading to chronic injuries. We are preparing
for his MMA match in 3 weeks by enhancing the #tensegrity
of his body so it has a much higher capacity to adapt to all forces of stress & impact. Here he is making connections dynamically by attempting this exercise for his first time after a half and hour of leg chambers to lock in the new tensions throughout his slings. Some feedback after yesterday’s session...
“Union ironworking has messed up my lower back, right shoulder, made my hip flexors extremely tight. On top of that doing my passion for fighting made my shoulder worse and so tight it eventually lead to a fractured rib, pinched nerve in my whole right arm caused by slamming my opponent in a fight and most recently A sprained ankle from my last fight. Needless to say I quit ironworking to fight full time but still lots of bad habits. Body is nowhere near it’s peak but Damn it feels the best it’s ever felt “(especially in fight camp)” #FunctionalPatterns #SavesTheDay #Again #FPfortheWin #MMAtraining #mmafighter
