Туристам её представляют как Пещера Зевса.  По мифу богиня Рея пряталась от своего мужа Кроноса, пожиравшего их детей, в этой пещере. Тут она и родила Зевса, а мужу отдала камень, завернутый в пелёнку. Первые раскопки в пещере произведены в 1886г. В результате раскопок были найдены античные алтари, множество вотивных статуэток, посвящённых Зевсу, а также керамика от раннеминойской до позднеримской. Sunday binge .....Gilkyachi Bhajji ( Sponge gourd fritters) and potato fritters. 🔽 🔽 swipe pics for Recipe 🔽 🔽Sponge gourd also known as Luffa or Chinese okra is a versatile vegetable which can be used for stir fry , curries and pakoras( fritters) 🔽Sponge gourd is a very effective vegetable in preventing diabetes, cholesterol and indigestion. It is an excellent blood purifier too. 🔽 Mature sponge gourds are peeled and dried to be used as loofah sponge. 🔽 🔽 For the fritters : In a bowl take 4 tbsp chickpea flour+ 2 tbsp rice flour + 2 tsp salt + 1 tsp red chilli powder + 1/2 tsp tumeric powder +1/2 tsp asefotida + 1/2 tsp carom seeds powder + 1/2 cup water or as required to get a batter like a cake batter. 🔽Chill this batter in freezer for 10 min. In the meantime slice both veggies into thin discs. Take 2 cups water, add 1 tsp salt and keep veggies in this water to prevent oxidation. 🔽Heat 2 cups oil ( I used groundnut oil) in a wok. Remove batter from the freezer and add 3 small ice cubes. Mix well. 🔽Dip and coat veggie discs one at a time and fry in hot oil till golden brown and crispy. Serve hot. 🔽 Made some whole green chilli ones too. 🔽 🔽Do not pre-fry. These tend to turn soggy 🔽I served them with tomato ketchup.
