Oh yes! I do enjoy me some fair food🤤 This Gyro was sooo YUMMY! . . Before I started my journey of healthy living I use to go to the fair and get a Gyro, Mini Donuts, cheese curds and don’t forget the couple beers😳🤦‍♀️ And I wondered why I felt like crap😂 . . My problem was I did not know exactly what moderation meant. I had this “all or nothing” mindset. Anyone else have or had this midset?🙋‍♀️🙇‍♀️ Eventually that mindset gets you in BIG trouble and usually you end up falling off your plan and have a heck of a time getting back on. . . It doesn’t have to be that way! Plan in your guilty pleasures and know that it’s ok to have it every once in a while and in moderation😍 I planned to have this delicious Gyro for my lunch. Nothing changed with the rest of my day. I still woke up and had my shake, had my Beverage Mix for snack with an apple and for dinner we are grilling some Turkey burgers🙌 . Do you struggle with this mindset? I have for years and still fight it to this day. One thing I do avoid is the fad diets and trends. I will not demonize food groups. I will not cut out food groups. What I try to do is eat a balanced diet. If working on weight loss than you must eat in a deficit. You need protein to build muscle, you need carbs for energy and the body needs healthy fats. I won’t lie I love eating out, junk food and other assorted high calorie, low nutrient based foods. I try to keep it in moderation. Sometimes really well and others it goes to hell in a hand basket 🤷🏻‍♀️ But if you are consistent, eat nutritious foods, keep the “junk” in check and get some exercise, you will lose weight and inches. Be patient, there are no quick fixes, magic pills, wraps or potions. Quick losses are usually water weight. And as soon as you start eating again the weight comes right back. So eat healthy in a deficit , slow losses are best and better maintained. Do not get caught in the all or nothing mindset. It’s always in you when you have one, it’s like an addiction and mine started when I was young, I could name 3 big happenings that triggered it. . The other main one was restricting and always dieting. . . Anybody that discredits an eating disorder has never walked in the shoes of one that has. It would be like me saying to a recovered alcoholic, omg just have one. Why can’t you just stop at one. It’s not hard. .. . Actually it’s a living hell. So this is why I said in my last post I will never stick to one food group. This is huge restriction for my mindset. Flexible dieting or should I say lifestyle is what literally saved me.

I’ve been wanting to try Veggie Grill 🍅 🥬 🌿 , but the closest restaurant to me is downtown Chicago. I don’t go downtown often, but my son’s last day of school was today (senior fever) 😁so he and a friend went to Veggie Grill for lunch. I ordered the Quinoa Power Bowl with a side of the chickenless wings. Got my food 3 hours later. 🤨 They ate and did some shopping afterwards of course. 😬 Was it worth the wait? 🤔 Nah. The ingredients of the bowl were super, but the citrus mint dressing was sad! I had to whip out my #Briannas Lemon Tarragon to help the flavors pop. And who puts over ripened avocado on a dish?!!! SMH. 😔Those wings.....?!!! Don’t get me started. I’m going to have to do a #nativefoods run this weekend to make up for this mediocre meal!! I give Veggie Grill 🥕 🥕 carrots out of my scale of one to five and that’s based on the variety of superfoods in the bowl.

Slowing the emptying of your stomach is actually a good thing - it allows us to feel fuller, which may cause us to eat less in the long run. 2) Myth #2 - Eating fruit before or after a meal reduces its nutrient value Your digestive system is more than prepared to absorb all the nutrients from fruit, whether it's eaten on an empty stomach or with a meal. 3) Myth #3 - If you have diabetes, you should avoid eating fruit Fruits contain simple sugars (fructose), which can raise blood sugars very quickly. However, if your blood sugars are controlled, combining low glycemic index fruits with a food high in protein and healthy fat is better than eating it on its own. 4) Myth #4 - You should not eat fruit after 5-6pm The theory is that eating fruit after 5-6pm raises your blood sugars more than earlier in the day, which may lead to weight gain over time. Another batch of hi protein, high fiber, low fat, low sugar chocolate chip cookies I baked up today. I will share my recipe below. You can use whatever protein powder you like, whether it's whey, vegan, egg protein, etc. I also use Sugar 2.0 which is half sugar and half inulin prebiotic fiber, but you can use splenda, or coconut sugar or anything. Yummy healthy snack, way better for you than typical store bought cookies

I was FED UP 😡😡😡 . . . FED UP....of feeling like everything else in my life came before ME. . . . FED UP.....of "letting myself go" because I continuously prioritized work over health. . . . FED UP....of being around people who just accepted (and even encouraged) my mediocrity. . . . Deep in my heart, I knew that I was capable of doing and being more than I was at that very moment. The pain of not living up to my full potential tore me apart inside 💔 . . . 🥊 I'd go out to drinks with friends and feel pressured to get another drink...so I'd say SCREW IT, have another one, and then wake up the next day feeling awful. . . . 🥊 I'd get stuck at a work happy hour late and "be forced" to eat dinner there...so I'd say YOLO and go to bed that night feeling so guilty . . . 🥊 I'd wait for my hubby to get home to make a "healthy" dinner, only for him to bust in the door telling me he's dying to get pizza...so I'd say WHATEVER, eat 3 giant pieces of pizza, then spend the rest of the evening feeling like I let myself down . . . This happened to me DAILY...for YEARS 🔄 . . . 👉 I didn't have the courage to speak up and say "NO" . . . 👉 I didn't have the courage to tell them I wanted MORE than the superficial life I was living . . . 👉 I didn't have the courage to stand up, invest in myself, & chase my dreams . . . At the time, I didn't realize that I COULD have both....I COULD have the drink 🍷 the spontaneous dinner 🍜 the pizza 🍕 & wake up the next day guilt free, feeling good, and loving what I saw in the mirror 🙌 . . . GIRLFRIEND, if you've been feeling FED UP, I want you to know that your life doesn't HAVE to be that way. . . . ✨ You CAN find the balance you crave, while doing things that make you feel DAMN GOOD about yourself and your body ✨ . . . I’m a health coach and I’ll be the first to tell you I love dessert. It’s no secret that sugar isn’t considered a “healthy” food choice. However, I prefer not to label any food item as an enemy or absolutely evil because I believe that kind of thinking perpetuates the war-like mentality we often have with food and our bodies. It creates feelings of anxiety, guilt, shame, and hate towards food and our bodies and these feelings critically affect our health! I used to be afraid of eating cupcakes. 🧁 🤦🏽‍♀️⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I thought if I had one I would open the uncontrollable gates of eating many. I often felt out of control around treats. 🍰 🤯⠀ ⠀⠀ It was a long road to learn how to eat cupcakes and other treats without the all-or-nothing mentality. I has to slowly re-introduce my trigger foods in safe ways. Each time I did well, I had to make note of it and give myself credit. 🧁 ⠀ ⠀⠀ Giving myself credit was key, because it allowed me to zoom in on what I was doing well, when my brain was so prone to point out what I was doing wrong. Over time this lead to confidence around my food. 🔑 ⠀ ⠀⠀ Now, I can enjoy a delicious cupcake if I want to. The difference is, I usually do not want to (weird, right?). I still don't keep trigger foods to close, because I don't want to rely on self-disciple when I'm stressed or tired. 🌸⠀ ⠀⠀ When I stated re-introducing trigger foods, I struggled. I made mistakes, I overate, I wanted to quit. Instead I treated myself like I was someone I loved. Aha, vous êtes nombreux à avoir eu envie de la recette de ces Cookies moelleux au chocolat 🍫 🍪 postés hier en story 😋 Vous avez raison, ils sont vraiment bons. Une fois n’est pas coutume, j’ai acheté du chocolat à pâtisser en grande surface et j’ai fait la recette qui figurait au verso de l’emballage. La farine est devenue riz moulu au #mockmill200 (je suis décidément fan de ce petit moulin, 3 mois plus tard) avec un peu de fécule pour le liant, le sucre était de coco et chacun mettra la quantité qu’il veut (le chocolat étant déjà très sucré), et au lieu de hacher une partie du chocolat à pâtisser, j’ai mis des pépites de chocolat 🍫. Sinon j’ai suivi la recette 😉🤣 qui est la dernière photo en glissant vers la droite. PS : ces cookies sont très chocolat intense, pas le genre que l’on avale sans y penser, je trouve. HEALTHY REESE CUPS 😍😍 1 cup Vegan superfoods or protein powder 1/2 cup Organic Coconut Oil All Natural Peanut Butter • 1. Melt the Coconut Oil in the Microwave 2. Mix the coconut oil and superfoods. 3. Pour half the batter into cupcake liners/ tin & Freeze for 10 minute. 4. Smooth out a layer of PB and the rest of the batter on top. 5. freeze for 20 minutes. • Viola!! Healthy Peanut Cups without all of the added chemicals and calories. 🧘‍♀️Balance🍕 🥂Last night I ate pizza and drank wine. 🥬But I also drank green juice, did yoga in the park with @nutmegyogact and walked 10 miles that day. When it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, its important to seek balance, not perfection. So I drank a bit more and ate things I never eat on a Monday (like alcohol, gluten, dairy and sugar). This morning I am drinking lemon water and going for a run, because I know my body needs to detox a bit. I am also going to fast (intermittent fasting) to burn off some extra energy. ‐------ #fact I was actually under my calories but over my fats and carbs yesterday. SO I ADJUST today! ------- Don't let a cheat meal turn into a cheat week. You can start new NOW, we all deserve a little indulgence and fun😍😍 ‐--------- Protip: When I am not traveling, I stick to an 80/20 plan. I eat super healthy during the week and do not indulge in gluten, alcohol, sugar or dairy. On the weekends I do whatever I like. I find this gives me something to look forward to vs. Feeling deprived every day.
