BALANCE CHALLENGE! Dancers, want to test that core strength?! Try this challenge! This can be done on the floor or, for an extra challenge, on a Bosu ball, as shown here! Here are a few pointers: **Keep that standing leg engaged. I don't mean "lock" the knee, but engage your quad, hamstrings, and your glutes (I would tell my students "squeeze the bottom of your butt").
**Keep hips even, so you're not "sitting" into one side.
**when you make the "T" position, keep both shoulders at the same height and the back leg parallel
**when you turn to the side, think of stacking the shoulders on top of each other and the hips on top of each other!
**coming up, don't forget to rotate that leg out in second and readjust the hip so you're not "sticking your booty out"
