I didn't get any of my workouts done in NYC ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. I intended to, I packed my clothes and shoes buttt sightseeing won out. Add to it that I left the day after a rest day and I had 4 days in a row off. Nothing crazy happened๐Ÿ˜ I didn't suddenly lose all my hard work or progress. I was just extra ready and excited to get back to it when I got home. I mentioned this in my story yesterday but I think it's worth sharing here too cause we can be so hard on ourselves for little things like this:) It's ok to take a few days off here and there, even if they're unplanned like this. Sometimes choosing the fun activity or company of loved ones on a trip is more important that sticking strictly to your routine. Creating a flexible lifestyle that works towards our health/ fitness goals helps us to make lasting progress cause we are living a life we can still enjoy. When we can enjoy it and give ourselves a break sometimes, we can maintain it long term and have lasting progress. โ™กIt's what we do most of the time that determines our progress, not what we do occasionally. Never give up on yourself! We all have days where other things are more important. We can never fail in this fitness lifestyle thing as long as we don't quit.

Sometimes I feel slightly guilty not being with Noah while working out. Sometimes I feel guilty that I don't always make us dinner like I used to. Sometimes I feel guilty that I miss DMs or comments from you guys or don't get to go live for questions as often as I used to. Guilt tries to edge in a lot more than sometimes over a lot more random things, especially when I take time for something I perceive as 'me' time, like my workout. Most of the time I catch myself. I realize that while that time is 'me' time and 'self' care, it really makes me a better person for all of those things I mentioned above. It keeps my stress low, I'm more pleasant and at my best. We will pretty much always have a million things we could be doing when we choose to workout, or to do whatever it is self care looks like for you, life is just full of things ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. Even though it may feel wrong or selfish in the, taking that time to do something that refills your cup only allows you to be your best when others need you. Soo this is my reminder and your reminder that it's ok to take a minute to take care of yourself ๐Ÿ˜Š

Don't let his smile fool you๐Ÿ˜‚ this afternoon was spits, screams and spills 90% of the time (spills done by me but it's hard not to partially blame the screams ๐Ÿ˜…). Most of my days right now are not productive in a way that allows me to sit back and smile at about a finished to do list feeling accomplished. As someone who likes to get stuff done.. it's taken a lot not to stress this. Andd I still occasionally fall into it even though I love what I'm doing and where im at ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. I know this period of time is short term and I don't want to wish a moment away. It's only a matter of time until sleep and naps are solidified and I'm back to getting some things done that maybe aren't baby related for a few hours a day ๐Ÿคฃ. A lot of times we stress over not being where we want in life or feeling like things aren't happening quickly for us like we think they should. I always remember my mom telling me (probably when I was being dramatic over something) that when we were all young she felt like she wasn't able to do things she wanted to, until one day while folding laundry and praying about it she realized that she was where she was meant to be in that phase of life. The story always stuck with me and I think about it on days that I feel like maybe I should somehow do more or could be somehow doing things differently to be more productive. But, whatever phase I'm in I want to be able to look back and say I gave it my all and did my best. I really think that's all we can ask of ourselves in anything! Anyways, just a share because I had no time for any kind of fitness to share yet today, @itsnoahrobert went wild after the car trip back lol๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ
. What's a food fear you have? Something you think if you eat will make you "fat" or lose progress๐Ÿ™ˆ. โ€ขโ€ขโ€ข It's a crazy thing to actually be scared of a food, but thousands of women are. Fear of eating that cookie, piece of cake, slice of pizza, or anything not labeled "healthy"๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ. Which can also be misleading, just because something is healthy or made with healthy ingredients doesn't necessarily mean it's the best thing to eat. โ€ขโ€ขโ€ข Funny story, years ago when I believed in the "Fat Free", "Low Carb", "Guilt Free" labels all the manufacturers put on their products๐Ÿ™„ I assumed I could eat endless amounts. I would buy the Joe's Joe's cookies from Trader Joes and legit eat the whole box in one day๐Ÿคช. THINKING it was made with healthy ingredients so it was OK to eat WRONG. I also did this with rice cakes, WhoNu cookies (anyone remember those?), peanut butter (still have a problem with PB๐Ÿค“) and trail mix....which I'm still convinced is some kind of drug because it's SO ADDICTING๐Ÿ˜œ. . It's definitely taken me a few years to really figure out this whole balanced eating. I use to fear bread, now I eat over a loaf a week๐Ÿž, I feared any meat besides turkey or chicken, wouldn't eat any pastas ever, and thought anything sweet was off limits๐Ÿซ. I was in a bad cycle of extreme healthy eating Mon-Fri and then binge eating Saturday and Sunday. . But I think we are taught that less is better. If you want to be "skinny" "toned" or "fit" you need to eat less. WHICH is so wrongโ—๏ธYour body needs the food for fuel. REAL food!!! No food needs to be fully off limits. Eating a balanced diet, enjoying all varieties of foods is possible while getting results. Which is something I press to my clients. I never want them to feel deprived. If you crave chocolate everyday by all means have chocolate just find a healthier version, I choose @jojoschocolatebark I literally eat some EVERYDAY!! (Use code FITWITHBRIT ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿซ). .
