✨IF ALEXA WAS A REAL PERSON I COULD SO USE HER 😂😩😭 Mom humor on this twin Thursday morning 🤗
I had a moment this morning. I sat and cried as I looked on at Tiny, blissfully wrapped up in his own world playing with his toys.
I mean who is this kid? How did we get from being a tiny squishy baby to a one year old playing by himself? Urgh, I can’t deal.
This post probably won't make me very popular. Then again, sometimes I wonder if people even read my posts, or if they just are scrolling through, mindlessly liking everything in the hopes they will get more followers.
Social media and these phones of ours, they are tricky little beasts aren't they? They are meant to give us more freedom and friendship, but sometimes the reality is that we become slaves to it, and even more isolated.
I recently started using the app "Moment" to track my screen time... and it did not make me happy. I'm still coming up with a plan to lessen it, but one thing I do is to enforce a No Screens At the Table rule, which includes restaurants. We talk and laugh together as a family during meals.
What are some ways you are cutting down on screen time in your family?
Day 4 of our program in the books. You KNOW I love a good quote and I stumbled upon one I want to share:
“In order for man to succeed in life, God provided him with two means, education and physical activity. Not separately, one for the soul and the other for the body, but for the two together. With these two means, man can attain perfection.” - Plato
Obviously perfection isn’t reality and I believe there is new grace every morning! But the benefits of exercise GO WAY BACK to the first scientists! So if you aren’t doing it, can I ask you to dig deep and ask why? You’re potential is limitless with God and his endorphins! #thursdaythoughts #braingains #siezetheday
Never did I imagine that one day I would miss a conventional alarm clock....with a snooze button.
I made the decision when my oldest was in second grade to pull them out of school and homeschool them. There are so many misconceptions about homeschooling, and my reasonings/beliefs differ from most homeschool families. .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I am a huge believer in the public school system, in theory. I think access to free education is an absolute right all of our children have. I do believe, though, that every child should be taught equally and not based upon how well their school can test. I think teachers are overworked, underpaid, disrespected, and under appreciated. ▪️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Military life is tough on kids. It’s hard to keep anything consistent in their lives in this atmosphere, and this is one of the only things I can control for them- the consistency of schoolwork and learning. I promise, they get socialized!! That term drives me bonkers, because so many people don’t know what it actually means! Do your kids not talk to you, their siblings and family members, the neighbors, the kids at a library or random playground?! That’s called socializing! ▪️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Homeschooling is hard. I think everyday I am doing it wrong. I compare myself to other home educators and all I can see is how much more they’re doing or how differently⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They’re doing it. However, it’s the most rewarding thing when you can see your child thrive because you allowed them to learn the way they needed to most. It’s a beautiful ride. ▪️▫️ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
