Happy Monday everyone! I know the beginning of the week is always rough but let's hope my Monday posts could bring a smile to your face :)
I am back today with something a little light-hearted for ya. I wanted to experiment with a different style and trying to make a cute character of my own...I ended up with this.
DESCRIPTION: So why a chubby unicorn? Usually, unicorns are depicted as beautiful mythical creatures which are very cliche and boring. So i wanted to make something that’s opposed to that idea. I wanted to make something that’s completely opposite but somehow still retain the uniqueness of the unicorn. Abnormalities in things aren’t always a bad thing, it can add personality and attitude to one’s work. The unicorn, in a way, represents me and the way I create my work. I often shot for authenticity over everything else by creating everything from scratch and just trying to take my work in a different direction.
Good morning people! It is time for another weekly Monday post, sorry to keep Y’all waiting :)
This poster is a real challenge because I’ve never made anything as complicated as a Chinese dragon before. The twisting and turning of its body is confusing enough that it took me quite some time to figure out.
DESCRIPTION: This poster relates back to “rebirth”. The concept of “rebirth” can also be seen as a process of creation and in contrast to creation, there is destruction. Nothing in this world lasts forever, things are made and eventually destroyed. Destruction is a force that keeps the world in balance. I want to depict destruction in a form of a dragon because in eastern mythology, the dragon is always the counterpart to a phoenix just like how destruction is the counterpart to rebirth/creation.
