Episode 6 Review:
✨Everything up to the lipsync battles were pretty pointless, and were just used to bring up past dramas that have already been dealt with or explained. The only thing of note was the Latrice and Monique “drama,” but even that was a bit juvenile. When it came to the eliminated queens picking the lipsticks, it was a weird choice editing wise to have that play out as a memory, rather than a sequence before the runway; also, didn’t think it was necessary for Rupaul to re-explain to the audience what shante and sashay meant. The Jasmine vs. Trinity lipsync was probably my least favourite one, as the audience was easily able to conclude who would be the winner. The highlight of that lipsync was definitely watching Jasmine try to wiggle her butt and nothing was moving! With the Farrah vs. Valentina lipsync, I think Farrah would’ve have slightly more of a chance if she had worn different hair, and if she went as hard as Valentina. You could tell that Valentina was putting everything she had into the words and choreography, and it was fun to see her be glamorous and silly at the same time. The best lipsync of the night (and should’ve been the double save) was Gia vs. Naomi. The song choice was a wonderful one to lipsync to, the different ways each girl tackled the song were so interesting to watch (I had a wonderful time watching). The beginning of the final lipsync looked like it was going to be Latrice’s game, but everything she was doing Monique was matching, and as the lipsync went on, Monique was doing so much better than her, and in all honesty, it should’ve been Monique winning, and Latrice getting eliminated again.
