It’s SO hard getting up when the family doesn’t have to. Schools are closed for another snow day today so my alarm was the only one set today! I just recently realized how important it is to get up EARLY and take time for myself BEFORE the house is awake!
SO alarm goes off at 4:30, I eat and get to work! Today was legs, a nice combination of exercises - one with weights, one with sliders! This move looks so innocent and alone might be. BUT last week, pretty sure I felt it for days after! SO give it a try - if you don’t have access to these plastic sliders, paper plates work well in a pinch!
ATTITUDE IS A LITTLE THING THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. The struggle bus pulled into procrastination station this morning. That is never good!! 😩
I’ve learned a little morning pep talk goes a long way, especially on leg day. We all have the power to decide what kind of day we're going to have. That doesn't mean we have control over the things that might come our way today but we do have control over how we will handle those things and how they will affect our attitude.
I shifted my focus to what I’ve achieved in this program so far and how I’m so close to reaching my first weight loss milestone. 🙌🏼 I also remembered that I don’t have to exercise and eat healthy. It is a privilege and I’m thankful for that!
After a sweat-inducing leg workout l this morning, I'm going into today all smiles. I may even perform in my car on the way to work this morning and who knows, maybe a few high fives and chest bumps at work today. Make it a great day and be sure to run the day! Don't let the day run you!

🌀Wanted to share one of my favorite 4 am secrets that contribute to the foundation of how my day will be: Writing affirmations.
This means, taking negative thoughts you might have in your head, and turning them into positives. By writing them down and saying them out loud, it triggers your subconscious to think of this throughout the day, when done consistently.
We tell ourselves to many negative thoughts and don’t even think about it sometimes, why not try replacing those, with good ones, on purpose? 🌀

CHOC & PB oats. This is one of my favourite combinations. I used half a cup oatmeal, handful frozen blueberries, cacao powder, 1 scoop arbonne vanilla protein, almond milk, water and then on top peanut butter and maple syrup. Healthy chocolate oats... what’s better for a cold morning?
When you feel like a total bad@$$ in the gym after squatting more weight than the guy next to you.
There is a lot of people who seem to think these at-home-workouts are a joke. Well, if that’s true and I am healthier/fitter at 35 than I was as a senior in high school, than call me a joker.
I chose at home workouts because it meets my lifestyle. I hated going to the gym, not being sure what I was doing, not wanting to hire a personal trainer (because graduate loans are expensive). Group classes weren’t my style because I am not an overly outgoing social person. Oh, I also travel a lot.
I chose Beachbody because it had professional trainers to guide me through a program, at my own pace. I have seen the results. Does it fit everyone’s lifestyle? Not at all. I really don’t care how you get healthier as long as you’re doing something to better yourself and it works for you...rock on, sister!

For me its simple. I would prefer to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier to get my workout in. .
This morning was a rough one though... I did NOT want to get up.
I got home a lot later than normal because I got my hair did last night after work. (Which I am so happy with) NO REGRETS. .
Although it did make it harder to get out of my nice warm bed, I still thought about the different times I could workout. So I could but would I actually push play? Mmmmm probably not. .
So I got up, pushed play, made my energize and started my workout. (Yes in that order)
Autumn talks at the beginning so I get it started and jump in the warm up. I was ssoooooore today.

LEG DAY! My favorite day!
Never. Ever. NEVER. EVER!!!!!
Did I think I would use the entire 52.5 dumbbell! I told Matt when I got them that there was NO WAY I would ever use that much weight... well today I did! Since we are doing 3x10 this week we can lift heavier. So I got the bright idea to keep up with @autumncalabrese to see if I could too- yep sure did 😁!!!! After each weighted move we transitioned to sliders to really burn out the muscles and keep them under tension. Refeed day really helped give me fuel for today’s workout!!!
