Threshold session: 4km warmup/drills/6x1km with 1min recovery/2km cooldown. Positives ✅ Fast - 1k reps - 60s slow jog recovery - group session - no hills - no rain. Not so positives ❎ Sandpit - 6 hard reps - sandy - choppy sand - did I mention the sand... We ran on our old ‘cross country circuit’ which was fine for the first rep, but once our whole group has passed, it had become like a bridal trail. Choppy as... A good workout pushing through that sand. Still very happy with consistent pacing and a great workout feeling. Slow and Steady . Today’s focus was form, focus and control. I set my timer for 12 rounds of 50/10 (work/rest) and did 3 rounds of this circuit (as well as 3 other circuits for a 50-minute workout). . There’s a place for fast and a place for slow. Training slow forces you to keep your core engaged the entire time to stay steady and controlled throughout the entire exercise. It trains your body and your mind at the same time. If you’re working out hard and have no results to show for it, this may be the most important thing you read all day. ⠀ Unless your girlfriend texts you. ⠀ Then you should probably text her back before you read this—or turn your read receipts off. ⠀ Or read faster. ⠀ Anyhoo ⠀ Progress is the forward or onward movement toward a destination. ⠀ So if you don’t have an end goal then you can’t 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 make progress in the first place. ⠀ Start with 1-3 long-term goals (12-month time frame). ⠀ Be sure to include a habit-based goal alongside your outcome-based goals. ⠀ Outcome-based ➡️ Add 20 pounds to your squat. ⠀ Habit-based ➡️ Eat veggies with every meal. ⠀ Break each goal down into quarterly (3 month) milestones. ⠀ If you want to get crystal clear, break them down to monthly—or even weekly—targets. ⠀ As cliché as it sounds, a goal without a plan is just a dream. ⠀ Create a plan that pushes you to hit each target, bringing you closer to the long-term goal. ⠀ Part of a successful plan includes tracking your workouts. ⠀ If you don’t track your workouts, you don’t 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 know if you’re getting stronger. ⠀ Not only that, but you won’t know what to change, or how to change it, when you aren’t making progress. ⠀ Fact is, you can’t manage what you don’t measure. ⠀ So track your sets, reps, and weights for every workout. ⠀ Test and re-test every 4-12 weeks to see how your strength/endurance is improving. ⠀ The longer you’ve been on a consistent training regimen, the less frequent you should test. ⠀ Making progress in your workouts is great, but you’ll never maximize your results if your nutrition sucks. ⠀ Hiring a 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 coach is the most effective way to ensure progress. ⠀ A good coach teaches you how to make sustainable progress in a way that doesn’t consume your life. ⠀ The accountability from a coach will result in a much higher level of commitment. ⠀ You can learn in 3 months what would you’d learn in 3 years just by working with a good coach. ⠀ If you aren’t seeing progress and you’re tired of running in circles, fill out an application to work with me. ⠀ The link is in my bio. ⠀ Talk soon :)
Welcome to my gym! All I need is my shoes, water, an aerobic step, and my workouts that I can stream on my Firestick! Each day I make a date with myself to sweat and best part is I don’t have to clean off my car or step into 10 degree weather to do it. ⭐️ 18 months difference ⭐️ Although it’s been four years since I first started BBG, it definitely hasn’t been a linear journey! The left photo was taken in the summer of 2017 after what had been quite a few months of very intermittent exercise yet still eating the same amount as I would when exercising 👀😂 However this was fab at the time because that was what felt right! I had needed a break from that routine to focus elsewhere and that was awesome 😁 The right was today where although December was definitely hit and miss (aka I don’t think a single BBG workout was done 🤔😂), it’s been a good 8/9 months of being back in a solid workout routine again!! At the moment, this is what feels right 😁 Exercising clears my head and it’s cliched but I genuinely am always in a better mood after some form of exercise - whether it’s a walk or playing netball or a BBG workout ☺️ So maybe there will be a time again where my priorities temporarily shift and there’s less exercise and I ‘lose’ progress but either way, I’m happy!! ☺️☺️☺️ ...aaaaand on a side note, #Week2 arms and abs is done 😁😁😁 I hope you’re all having an awesome week of workouts ❤️

One of my goals for our 6 week bootcamp at Kaiafit is to do 5 dead-hang pull ups. As I was reevaluating my goals this week, I realized I needed to add in a few different excerises daily (like negative pull ups and chin holds for 1 minute) to reach my goal. F*cking finally! After literally 3 years, here's a goshdarn bench PR (Swipe left...or right??). This was supposed to be a proper Comp. Bench so I'm only moderately enthused. This was pretty easy so I should have the real deal next week Aside from that, 250 for my triples was also pretty decent. Turns out the secret to benching more is to bench more. I'm doing 3 1/2 sessions per week (Every other day). I thought my shoulders or wrists would start to give out with the volume but they just adapted. The last belly pic of this pregnancy.... probably about 5 days before she was actually born. • Now, here I sit 2 days postpartum and I've been thinking..... • It took 9 months to grow my sweet girl. • It took 9 months for my body to get to this point. • And then, at the end of that time, I delivered an almost 8 pound baby. • My labor was hard and fast, and painful, and it did a number on me. • Knowing what my body is been through, it is only fair to myself that i CONTINUE to honor my body right now. • No pressure to "bounce back" or "drop the weight" or whatever we see all these new moms striving so hard to do as fast as possible. • Right now my focus is on: Snuggling my sweet baby girl Spending time with my boys Getting the rest I need Taking care of my body and letting it HEAL Building up a good breastmilk supply Enjoying this crazy exhausting time • No scales No pre-pregnancy jeans No cleanses or quick fixes No pressure to be or look a certain way • #rewriteyourresolution #slowisfast
