Meet my muse. (Can you believe she is 60 years old?) This woman right here is the reason why Getting Wiggy Hair exists. My mother is the most resilient person I have ever met. The things this woman has gone through in her life, yet, still stands, is nothing short of a miracle. When my hero, my protector, my mother and father, my woman of steel, informed us that she had cancer, my world instantly changed, she changed, everything changed. The change in my mother wasn’t any less than, but rather, greater than anything I have ever witnessed. She was no longer my hero, but instead encompassed the characteristics of an extraordinary superhero, like none the world has seen.
She has always handled everything that has been thrown at her with such strength, grace, and resilience, and this diagnosis was no different. I am truly in awe of her. In support, I shaved my head, and to this day, continue to. It’s the very least I can do for someone who has given me much more than I deserve.
This picture is a candid picture (in between shots) of my mother after I made her over with some makeup and a custom wig. The smile I captured here is how I will always see my mother-beautiful, inside and out, with or without hair.
Everything I do with this company, is for, and in honor of my mother and others affected by cancer. I have such great things in store for this company, and I hope you all will be around to see it. It is going to be big! Mark my words. Keep up to date at www.gettingwiggyhair.com
I said all this to say, CANCER REALLY SUCKS and that I love my mother beyond words. I’d love to hear how you or someone you know supports others with cancer. Comment down below.
