Two weeks ago I climbed Mount Defiance with some friends in prep for this week's Mount Adam's climb. ( more on that in the next post;) .
It was a 16 miles of hiking, 5,000 feet of elevation gain, 9 hours of hiking, and eating way too many snack bars kind of day;) . .
Said to be the hardest hike in the gorge.... Mt. Defiance didn't disappoint with more than amazing views from the summit and a very nice trail to walk on. It was my first time trying out all my climbing gear and new backpack, and I loved it! Spending time with friends and talking and enjoying God's Beautiful creation made it all worth it! . .
The descent was quite scary because there was a lot of loose rock and nothing to hold it in because all the underbrush was destroyed in the Eagle Creek Fire last year! So we had to keep on our toes and the treking poles came in super handy! .
Overall it was all an adventure that came with a breathtaking view!
We celebrated afterwards with @john_hss
surprising us at Subway, and also saw an amazing sunset on the way home. The beauty of the Lord was surely upon us!
