Sacred walk into Mt. Kurama. Kinone Sando, Tree Root Pilgrim Path //
Probably one of the most absurb and memorable day of my life. The hike up Mt. Kurama that lead all the way to Kifune Shrine was no joke, it was a two-hour long hike with countless flights of steps and steep trails.
We initially planned to go straight to Kifune Shrine (the easy route), but we had a change of plans that day.
Oh smart me, walked out the door with my boots and it never crossed my mind there's gonna be some killer hike up there. Not to forget to mention, new boots! Poor boots, you did well for your first day!
Well if you ask me, I say the pain was all worth it!
We were blessed with beautiful weather that day, listened to the sound of natures, felt the cool breeze kissing my face every time I stopped to rest my poor feet, and we had some good laughs at ourselves for being this silly. At the end of the journey I cheered 'I survived! My sacred walk with heels! How cool am I?'
Someone sneered and said 'I could have carried you and saved us an hour walk.'
'Now that wouldn't feel like a victorious hike, would it?' - sneered back.
That evening we treated ourselves with delicious yakiniku and few pints of beer.
It was worth it ☆ .
