Narooma bridge with Mt Dromedary/Gulaga behind it.
Watching the seals bask in the remaining sun as a fierce wind rolled in. 🌪💨
Moody morning skies looking out towards Mount Gulaga captured by @blacksnakeblyde
Mount Gulaga was an active volcano over 60 million years ago and is a place of Aboriginal significance. Gulaga is the place of ancestral origin within the mythology of the Yuin people, the Indigenous Australians of the area. Gulaga itself symbolises the mother and provides a basis for Aboriginal spiritual identity; the mountain as well as the surrounding area holds particular significance for Aboriginal women.
Hiking Mount Gulaga is an amazing experience and is a fairly leisurely walk to the summit #sapphirecoastnsw #unspoiltsouthcoast
We do love this part of New South Wales. If we didn't live in the Blue Mountains we would happily live on the Sapphire Coast. Today's adventure was Mt Gulaga. The track was actually a bit easier than a lot of the ones back home despite the ascent, as it goes up in waves - although we didn't go the entire way up. A few Joe Blakes out on the return as the sun came out and it warmed up. #sapphirecoast #tilba #mtgulaga #holidays #australia #visitnsw #wherethebloodyhellareya @muznutz
Moody Mt Gulaga keeping watch over Wagonga Inlet.
From the rugged coastal cliffs to the peak of Mt Gulaga, you will find beautiful place like this on the Sapphire Coast. 📸 @flying.parrot
Later on we reached the summit, some 7 kilometres from Tilba village and 800m above sea level. Weathering and crustal movement has reduced this peak by 2000 or so meters

We are actually at the summit of #mtdromedary
but you wouldn’t know because of the fog. Ahhh! 🙈was still an awesome morning hike though :)

Overall hospitality: 5/5
Average score 4.25
Comments: Cutest little loo for the cutest little poo. Little bit of yellow and a little bit of brown, Tilba is quite the quaint town.
Preferred method of transport for hooning through sheep & cows to catch the sunrise. Not another soul in sight other than kangaroos, whales, dolphins, eagles & plovers. Blessed 🇦🇺🙏
Hard to fit all of this beautiful giant into the photo.
These rock tors, with 3 balancing on top of each other, represents where we came from- the Land, where we are now, and the one on top pointing to the sky is showing where we go when our spirit leaves our body and passes on to the next world. This is part of the creation story for the Yuin people.
