“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall...” Oscar Wilde
Apparently in ancient Egypt mushrooms were reserved only for royal consumption because they were viewed as the plant of immortality 👸🏻🤴🏻🍄🍴
Any advice? I find my spore print rarely take the whole shape of the mushroom... I’m putting them on paper with a bowl over them. Thoughts? #sporeprints #naturesart #mushroomart
I love how even in fall the moss is such bright green. #greenismyfavoritecolor
Something about this scene is magical as if little fairies might pop out any second. #faeries
🧚🏼♀️ 🧚♂️ 🍄 I also think this mushroom looks like a withered old man that could come to life. #magicinthewoods
I’m struggling to learn how to identify... Cortinarius corrugatus?
My four and a half year old spotted these lovelies on the side of a fallen log. She has quite the talent for noticing. 🧡 #Mycenaleaiana
(I think?) #orangemycena
Oh the places things will grow. Like a tiny little umbrella. ☂️ I seem to have an affinity for the orange ones. Now...to buy a book and learn what they’re called! #mycologistintraining
And here we are...@ispyfungi
and some of our children out hunting mushrooms. My littlest in the carrier and my oldest discovering the joy of foraging.
Well, here’s the start of a new way of keeping track of outdoor adventures. Sometimes it’s forests and other times beaches. Either way it’s about life outdoors. Current obsession: #mycology #fungi
Is it just me, or do some mushrooms look like flowers? 🌸 🍄 🌱
For the love of mushrooms!! We could eat them every single day and never get tired of them🍄😍🍄
Have you ever seen a purple mushroom before? The forest was full of them. I had no idea that purple mushrooms grew in Maryland!
Apparently mushrooms are more closely related in DNA to humans than to plants. Who knew?!
Ive had the best Sunday, I actually managed to paint during the day, which is a first 💜 My gorgey kept the boys entertained and I had a painting session with the beautiful voice of Sandy Denny in the background. Oh yep ✨
hits the motherlode! #grifolafrondosa
from neighbourhood to kitchen to breakfast table (and beyond) Stay tuned for this Hen-of-the-Woods / massive maitake culinary adventure 🙌🏽😋
I’ve been mushroom hunting since I was a little kid and have only been lucky enough to hit a jackpot like this once every decade. And for some ironic reason it always happens when I least expect it and I am completely unprepared (no knife, no basket, running out of daylight..) But even when you’re on a bike miles and miles from your car on a steep mountain, you get creative & figure out a way to bring those Kings home. 🍀 #fungilover #mushroommadness #boletusedulis #boletistalltheway
One day I’ll learn to identify mushrooms...
