One More Light [Linkin Park]
This is the latest album of one of the most successful bands in the world Linkin Park. This album meant a really big change in the style of music that the band had until that moment, with this album they went full pop without any hesitation, and that bothered a lot of fans. The lead single of the album was "Heavy" a song that was pretty much what you had heard from any other pop artist in the radio, by the exception that this was Linkin Park, and the lyrics while a little bit basic also held the band's essence, I will say this the song would've been 10 times better without the Kiara collaboration. Mike Shinoda, the other vocalist of the band, has 2 songs as lead vocalist and while they're straight pop tracks with no real edge on them I do find them appealing depending of the time, "Sorry For Now" specially for the lyrics. Then we have Chester Bennington, that as you probably know tragically took his own life a couple months after the release of the album, in this album he has really hunting songs that while don't shine so much in the production, in melody and lyrics kick ass. "Talking To Myself" is a great track and probably their most Old School in the new album, and "One More Light" is a song that would probably bring you into tears if you're in a delicate state of mind, really powerful. I think the weakest tracks on the album are the ones with featured artists, I don't think Linkin Park is the kind of band that needs outside help for their music. In conclusion, if you have an open mind about artists/bands changing and experimenting with new styles you could give this album a try since it has some good tracks with quality melodies, and if you prefer sticking to the rock/alternative world then this album might piss you off and I could understand why.
