this week and always is our “boss,” founder, role model, and human sometimes in the kitchen: @harto.
Hannah is a wonderful person and speaking as an older fan, your captain would like to comment that she’s so happy that young lgbtqia+ youth have a role model like you. And thank you for your love of selfless service. #hannahhart

In discussing the statistic of how one in six children face #foodinsecurity
in the US, our captain was reminded of the vignette from @harto
‘s first book where child Hannah would play “will she eat it?” To get food at lunch. No Kid Hungry helps fight for food in schools and elsewhere for children. If you want to join us, check out the link in our bio or email hahdboston@Gmail. #bookstagram #instagood
Robbie wanted to make the Mac-o-lanterns @harto
did for her YouTubery. A few slight modifications (rigatoni was our macaroni stand-in)...paired up with fresh venison (fresh as in caught yesterday by the Mister) with cranberries and sherry and a baked potato. #yummy #huntingseason #macolantern #mydrunkkitchen
dinner brought to you by #mydrunkkitchen
🍷😂🙈 I dois good. Didn’t burn the stuffing like last year, made too much food. Followed by daddy’s standard “It filled a hole” which in his language actually means “I love you”. Red for him, white for me. We keep it pretty sweet and simple these days. I swear he’s my best friend, the absolute #lightofmylife

you are ever gonna meet. Our dinner was set to the sweet sounds of ShowCase viewing of Star Wars: Return of The Jedi because obviously. #thanksgiving #daddydaughter #daddysgirl #shecooks #imakeeper

When I’m bored I online shop. I put all the things in my cart, but never secure the checkout. Unless I’m hungry, then I cook.
Currently reading. What literary goodness are you enjoying right now?

More than 75% of children in a Daily Mail study said that they would consider being a YouTube star. Would you?
I did a little baking yesterday.
I, uh, also did a little drinking yesterday, “lost” the baking, thought I must have thrown it away, and just discovered it when I went to nuke a burrito. #mydrunkkitchen #bakeyourbestlife
So anyone who knows me well would know what a big deal this picture is to me. Of the people who have influenced my life that I haven't met (until now) she may indeed be the most impactful.
Hannah was the figure who made me comfortable with my sexuality all those years ago. In a time where I didn't see myself represented anywhere she was a human who was happy, healthy and successful whilst also being openly gay. I honestly hadn't seen someone who looked, felt and acted like me in these spaces before.
Her willingness to talk about mental health and break down stigmas inspired me to actively take measures to improve my own and her book 'Buffering' helped me to understand the way past trauma can be interacted with without having it define you.
We live in a time where cultural icons are shifting so suddenly that many of the folks I know may have no idea who this person is. Which brings me to my next point... I've been so lucky to meet a whole bunch of people Ive looked up to and whom I find inspiring and everytime I leave thinking the same thing: "they are human". Being over here and living this crazy life has made me realise that impact is concentrated. Hannah Hart truly has helped shape my life, but so have many folks who don't have millions of YouTube subscribers. Her ability to reach a large audience means she has the ability to have a hand in the direction of a teenager in rural Australia, but so can you. The greatest thing this person's work has taught me is that impact is exponential. Her ability to change the way I see the world has helped me to impact the lives of those who see me as a figure in theirs. Feeling that she is a physical being reminds me that we all have the power to change lives and cultures for the better from an individual level. You may not have the reach that someone at that level of fame but the effects can be just as meaningful. They are not some kind of demi-gods, they are us.
Please be the type of person that makes other people feel empowered to change lives. Be the person who impacts the one that goes on to impact the two. Because that's the way things change.
Thanks to Hannah for being so genuinely pleasant and human today
It may have been 110 degrees and ash may have been falling from the sky... but it was awesome to meet @harto
