MINI-STREET MAXI-BENDER [location #19
No, not that one – the other one. Because, yes, you’ll definitely hear everyone talking about the famous Golden Gai, the working-class neighborhood teeming with bars that’s more commonly known as the “neighborhood of thirst”. As for us, what we’re talking about is “drunkards’ lane”, right behind the train
tracks of Shibuya, which you’ll find thanks to the rows of lanterns hanging over the entrance. Behind them lies an alleyway full of tiny bars that serve sake.
Our favorite: the one at the end of the street, spattered with graffiti, which you access via a miniscule staircase. It only has room for four customers, but also offers karaoke. Just ask the boss – he likes to sing too. Prepare to leave lurching, but in very high spirits.
