When you show up to Target with only one kid and they finally have Christmas stuff out. You throw them hands up 🙌🏼🎅🏼🎄🤶🏻⭐️☃️🎁
WHO ELSE HAS CRAZY KIDS?
It’s 18 degrees outside and they ran out barefoot and in jammies cause they wanted to play outside.
I didn’t look this cute running after them, just FYI.
Also, I gave them hair cuts last night and it’s like shaving sheep. Seriously, I should have been a farmer.
Butttt there’s nothing cuter than fresh hair cuts, jammies and bare feet (regardless of temperature) so hope this brightens up your day!
Surprise! A new photo! Dad says mom’s been slacking on my insta + photos. And he’s totally right. Just don’t tell her I said so! 😉
It’s finally sweater weather people 🙌🏻🍁 Do yourself a favor and get yourself this one.....pssst it’s from Target 🎯

The fact that my baby’s 1st Christmas was 2 years ago makes me kinda sad. 😭🎄

A street by my house is literally lined for blocks in ginkgo trees and this time of year it looks like it’s covered in piles of fluffy gold. I mean, Leo is definitely less than impressed and allowed me only this *one* photo before completely loosing his mind about being the center of my constantly clicking camera but in 32 years I have yet to find a more magical stretch of street. 🕊💜🦁

May your coffee kick in before reality does. Reality being that today my carrier is fused to my body because Cosmo loses it if I lay him down. This is momhood.

Walking in a winter wonderland 🎶 .
I am loving the snow on the ground this morning! I am definitely the type of person who gets giddy about snowfalls only up until Christmas. After that I would be happy to see it go! .
Who’s happy about having snow today? Who are the ones who can live without it?

New page alert!! 📣As a new mom, I've already ran lists and lists of worries and anxieties through my head late at night as I watch our little one sleep 😴 . Worries like what will happen if he doesn't make a team, or gets his heart broken 💔, or have friends leave him out... there are just so many things that we cannot control! Then it hit me -- we may not be able to control WHAT happens in life to our baby as he grows, but we can influence and give him the tools necessary to show him HOW to navigate the ups and downs that life is inevitably going to send his way. This is a journey of building #emotionalintelligence
in children by showing different ways to interact and instill the confident boost they need to grow happy and healthy ❤️💙
She told me how much fun she had and how much she loved her birthday, and then asked if it could be her birthday again next week. We made it 3 days before she brought up her NEXT birthday and I’m pretty sure that is a record. Slow it down, girl. #4years #shesafreakintrip

Just so everyone knows...this video is from over a year ago. It was after a particular hard and exhausting autism day. For the first time I realized, and I mean really realized, that my beautiful son was different. And on top of that, I let myself take a look at the future in a realistic way. It was hard, crushing and so therapeutic. I chose to share it with the world because I knew I wasn’t alone. I wasn’t the only parent with a severely autistic child. In sharing this I saved myself. And hopefully helped others. Thank you again to everyone that offered support and love! ❤️❤️❤️

Yall I FEEL THIS today.
A beautiful sunset is your reward for surviving another day. Enjoy as many as you can🍁
When I found out we were expecting a baby girl I had the perfect vision of what I hoped she would be: smart, strong, independent, a little bit sassy, compassionate and loving. Annelise, you are every bit of that perfect vision and more. I could never express correctly how much I love you. You’re my best and being your mommy is everything I’d ever ever ever hoped for. #wegotalottabitsassy #pleasestopgrowing #4years #mygirl
When you wake up it’s your birthday and you’re the definition of extra. “I am 4 and I love me!!” Annelise, my love, never ever change. #4years
She just went to bed for the last time as a 3-year-old. I can’t believe tomorrow she’ll be four. FOUR. I think I’ll just eat an entire bag (the family size one) of peanut butter m&ms and drink a bottle of moscato and cry about it. #howisthispossible #timeyoujerk

Anyone else? I love my little guy. HARD! hes kind of the best. But I swear to goodness on days he is "needy" I STRUGGLE. Again, I'm VERY introverted... sooo having someone who demands my attention so frequently is hard. I also having to stop in the middle of dishes drives me nuts. OR even better, when I'm cooking and I have to leave the kitchen to see what he needs... cooking is hard enough for me. Just this morning I set the smoke detector while making N some sausage and eggs. He has auditory sensitivity so, naturally he started screaming. My house was noisy. Who else has moments like this?! What are things you struggle with as a parent?
Its go home day! N completely impressed the #PICU
staff and made a real solid turn around. We were told this morning we will be discharged. THANK YOU @childrensmn
for taking SUCH great care of my baby!
Sick days are for blanket forts, momma snuggles, movies and a ton of nap! Poor little dude slept ALL day.
I so strongly believe in this. Often when adverse behaviors come out... commonly asnviolence people are very quick to judge when they see a special needs mom struggeling on the grocery store as her child is throwing a fit, running away, yelling... that judgment shows a real lack of compassion, a lack of humanity. All behavior is a form of communication. As adults it's up to us to figure out what our child(ren) are communicating. Its our responsibility to meet children with a level of compassion where we can support their communication rather reprimand them for simply being human and not understanding how to communicate what they are feeling. Kids are learning. In the process they are simply humans...being :)
Yesterday was Ns first day of school. He wore an outfit he was so proud of. He picked it out all on his own on a recent target trip... really that's like everyday in my house but whatever 😉😂🤣. He had an amazing first day at school and made his whole team incredibly proud. I am so proud of him! He got on and off the bus with no problems as well. Separation and transitions have been an issue in the past. My baby boy, you are a rockstar!
