B.K.S. Iyengar was born 100 years ago today in the Southern Indian state of Karnataka. He is seen as instrumental in introducing yoga to the western world, and his wisdom and guidance live on long after his death in 2014. #bksiyengar
So my body has been trying to rush me into all sorts of situations🙈. It's tried once or twice to trick me and almost send me into that awful pit of anxiety again. But we're friends now so she let's me know sooner (love you body🖤). Sometimes we rush around all day, and 5 minutes of mindful movement is such food for the soul. (Just try winging your arms around, it works)
Also, definatley is a relaxant (which I need 😇🙈) Remembering to take a step back, breathe and move slowly.

This picture, this fold, is the only yoga I did today. I slept in these pjs last night, I’m still in them, and I’m sleeping in them tonight. I allowed my toddler to watch movies and snack in bed this morning so I could sleep till 12. The only productive thing I did was homework and wipe a bum other than my own. We had sonic AND taco casa for dinner. I’ve been waiting up till 3 AM to see my better half for a few minutes after he closes the restaurant. Then I wake up to make sure he’s up at 8 then try to go back to sleep if I’m lucky. Opening a restaurant/bar is no joke. Our schedule is all kinds of messed up as well as all of our healthy habits. I miss him so much. I’m so proud of him and I can’t wait to hang out with him again. Stepping into my version of naughty with some wine and some not so attractive truths. If you focus on where you want to be, what it'll feel/look/smell like, you'll move in that direction.
Yoga is my rock to get through the trials and tribulations of final year uni. It’s easy to get caught up in worry and fear when the future is so uncertain. I may live and breathe mindfulness but I’m not 100% positive all the time.. All you can do is accept the fear for what it is and feel it fully before taking a step back and making the choice to observe the emotion rather than let it consume you. You’ll still feel afraid, but trust that feelings are temporary and tomorrow could be the best day of your life.. ♡
I wrote 11,000 words today and skipped my workout so obviously I’m living my best life. .
