Ugh another fire in American canyon today reminds me of last year. I’m so grateful for my family and friends, happy last year’s fire is over. There was another fire in 1981 in the #napavalley , and @shafervineyards planted the #firebreak vineyard to protect the rest of the vineyards. This #1995#sangiovese based wine is fiery with notes of chaparral, cocoa, and mesquite. Still kicking and smoldering. #italiano#napafire
My heart is full today. So much was lost during the devastating #napafire . Today, I helped to reclaim the trails, cutting trees and brush, I’m super sore and probably have a shit ton of poison oak... but, THIS. This is what I could do. I felt so helpless and afraid during the fires. I knew so many who lost so much. To you, I am with you, I feel you and this is just a little something to make OUR Napa a place where we all are happy, safe and loved.
Just purchased some beautiful art from my friend @kristina_time who was inspired by the #napafire and the need to protect our local wildlife. I’m going to frame these beauties and one of them is going to my MIL for Mother’s Day - the deer one bc she is on Atlas Peak and has felt a lot of pain - but the deer families seem to be coming back around.
We are so thrilled to partner with @culturestrike to produce a short doc on local artists from Napa coming together to mobilize the community around environmental justice. The project will soon be viewable on @culturestrike ’s social media platforms!
In the mean time here’s some behind the scenes from our weekend on location...where co founder @reaapuri was director & DP, and @mariomcgeeart did an amazing job Operating 2nd Cam & Sound! Also a big thank you to @xulioxyz@wagonways@chalkriot@350org ✊🏽🎬

Driving through Sonoma this past week, it’s hard not to get emotional seeing how much rebuilding and growth has happened in just a few short months. It’s incredible to see just how fast nature restores everything. It’s been an incredible honor to work, and continue to work with homeowners, contractors, and architects here in Sonoma, to restore and rebuild what was lost in the fires. #sonomastrong
When the fires hit our Valley in Oct, a huge blessing was every night for 4 days before it started the P.G.A tournament was donating large amounts of food left over from the day, I would be there with my truck and coolers and had no idea in just a few days I would be not just donating but cooking large amounts for many people without power, including senior and family housing that had no way to feed themselves. Food went to the shelters, individually people came for food and other donated items. HUGE BLESSING when our town was in need.

#October9 6:57 2017 #napafire I was 1/2 mile away. @napa_city_fire warned us immediately. I went back get my stuff and look back way too close. It’s like pouring down rain however ashes and gust of winds. I could barely see @pga was playing #golf over the weekend. #napastrong
Tubbs Fire +6 months. Folks are a long way from getting out of this. County regs. EPA regs. Contractors completely overloaded. We survive, don’t we. The first responders were heroes. Not sure that all the ex-post bureaucracy were. #tubbsfire#napa#napafire
