Morchella or Morel mushroom, locally known as gucchi / Rangmuch / cheu in Himachal. A much sought after mushroom naturally grows in forests and old orchard fields in the months of March & April. It has high nutrition and gastronomical value. Morchella is a edible fungi which have a honeycomb appearance, due to the network of ridges with pits composing their cap. With selling price from 30k per kg it is one of the most expensive mushrooms in the world.
