"Elk in Red"
It was getting dark and getting hard to shoot anything. We saw a herd of elk on the road and I had to get a shot. Shooting an f4 telephoto in low light was really difficult especially when you have to go full manual and can't do a long exposure. I'm pretty happy with the result. Iso was at 3200. I wasn't sure if I was going to post this but I went through too much to not •
For this shot, I used the rule of thirds and got that little cabin in the left side. I tried to not cut the tops of the trees but I did make a tiny mistake (it was dark) and I shot right when the elk were split into groups of three to further the rule of thirds
In front of every photographer is a beautiful scenery, behind a swarm of mesquitos eating them alive. The mesquitos definitely tested my desire to capture the pictures, fortunately the pictures won me over.
Taken from a canoe on Maligne Lake. How cool is dat?
So lucky to have caught this moment on camera 2 years ago. A bulging bull Elk in the Rocky Mountain national park.

Yesterday we made a last minute trip to Vegas to attend a memorial service for a friend. Of course we had to make a stop in Red Rock.
