Canyonlands Nationalpark - Island in the sky
Photo from our roadtrip in the USA.
We went there very early in the morning to catch the rising sun. The view was fantastic. The Mesa Arch is one of the most famous arches at least in the canyonlands nationalpark. It is also one of the standard desktop backgrounds in windows 7
Well today kicked ass. There's a 400 meter drop between those two lakes. And the bright aquamarine colored lake is fed straight from the multiple glaciers in the area. Plus today was my longest trek on this journey. 25 km with 1200 m elevation gain. Now I get to sleep with the sound of sheep hanging outside my tent.
Setting up camp, then watching the sunset after an awesome day on the Lake Kabetogama! 💧
Starting to explore the off trail areas around the ice fields. There's some cool stuff around
Still a fair amount of haze in the air in Glacier National Park (though no smell of smoke) due to the ongoing Howe Ridge fire. The views, as a result, have an ethereal quality to them and in their own way convey an intimation of grandeur—they remain just as stunning. — Photos taken on the Highline and Garden Wall trails Sunday, August 19. — 7.5 miles to the Grinnell Glacier overlook, with 3500ft of cumulative elevation gain. Since the trail is closed ahead it must be taken back out, making it about an 8hr hike but well worth the effort! — #glaciernationalpark #howeridgefire #highlinetrail #loganpass #gardenwalltrail #grinnellglacier #nationalpark #montana #hiking #hikingadventures
