Memorial Day over the years has been fortunately filled with adventure and exploration. While last year was spent paddling for 6 days through beautiful @glacierbaynps
, we don’t plan on being quite as remote or wet this time around (but we’ll still be hugging a coastline). And I can hardly wait! Just🤞🏼for clear skies at night, and cool clouds during the day.
What do you have planned for the long weekend?
I also want to note that this is a legal camp site in an established area above the high tide zone. The tides in Glacier Bay are extreme (up to 25’ rise/fall every 6 hrs), so picking safe spots for camp and especially food and kayaks was essential and often required us carrying our stuff over 50 yards on slippery and rocky terrain.
Kodiak Island is the prettiest place in Alaska. Change my mind. || #SharingAlaska
Moments like these are priceless! This lil’ one couldn’t be more than just a few hours old. When we stopped to ooh and aww Mom & baby were up closer to the trees. This adventurous calf wobbled out towards the street. We gave them lots of space and watched mom to make sure we weren’t upsetting her. 💗
I plan on being out on the water a lot this weekend 🛶
A slice of my paradise this morning. Sunshine, fresh greens and the dogs I love so dearly. This is happiness.
I’ve jumped in a lot of cold water. I can’t seem to resist it. (My wife thinks I’m crazy most of the time) But there’s something magical and invigorating about how it makes you feel. This though, this was the coldest by far! What’s the coldest water you’ve ever jumped into? My friend @nelzure

Getting rooms ready for our guest’s arrival. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our resort. 🎣
We cannot wait to open our restaurant doors on June 1st. Plus it’s a Prime Rib night. #yum

Hiked an @orukayak
to the top of Sharatin Mountain with @gpowersfilm
just to paddle Shelly Lake with an ocean view. Sometimes I have to pinch myself and ask if this is real life!?! Kodiak is epic, & Alaska is an adventurists paradise. 10/10 would recommend. || SharingAlaska
May 21, 2019. First Kayaks on Shelley Lake, Kodiak Alaska (zoom in to spot it!!) - Carrying a 40 lb cumbersome foldable kayak through bear country up to a mountain lake in Alaska is no easy feat, but @nelzure @hill.gabriella
and I packed a LOT of snacks, a tenacious attitude and a whole lot of love of type two fun and had one of the most epic days I’ve experienced here yet. I’m pretty sure every muscle in my body is sore right now but in the best, best way. #kodiakalaska
sleepy mornings... counting down the days until friday for memorial weekend fishing trip with friends & fam!!
Beautiful morning colors along the parks highway.
I am so lucky to be able to live somewhere some insanely gorgeous
One more week and I get to see my favorite lifetime adventure buddy!!!! @alaskan_bren
I could stand on the docks all day and watch these guys there thing. Sea otters are said to be a great indicator of how healthy our ocean is.
Sweet memories. And also, I want more of this - long runs with the best four-legged friends.
Headed down here this coming weekend! Looking forward to seeing what it looks like in the summertime.
Would you ice skate on a lake towards a glacier? This episode is live on Amazon Prime, spoiler alert it’s pretty epic!
A rock flick turned into a rock flip, skip, dip. Woah! What a trip! 🤽🏻♂️🌊💦🌊🤽🏻♂️
Did you know that moose have antlers along with caribou, deer and elk that fall off and grow back every year unlike sheep, goats and bison that have slow growing permeant horns. Horns grown on both sexes while antlers generally only grow on males except for caribou where they grow on both male and females.
This little fella is only a year old and hopefully still with its mother - who we didn’t see - but it didn’t have any antlers yet, one would think that would be uncomfortable while it’s still nursing!
