“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.” ― William W. Purkey
And once you’ve got all that good stuff going on, don’t forget to love your delicate skin just a little more during the harsh winter weather! The biting chill has arrived, and your skin may start to react with a growing flush of redness, inflammation and irritation if you happen to have sensitive skin. Have no fear, because by following a delicate, organic, mild skincare regime, you can effectively limit the redness, cracking and imperfections caused by the coldest temperatures. Organyc suggests the following winter beauty routine, but should you have any suggestions for other women navigating the same icy waters, we definitely welcome your comments!
Sensitive skin: how to maintain your healthy glow in winter
It is extremely important that you follow a daily skincare routine, especially in critical periods such as winter, when the cold puts a strain on the skin’s natural protective barriers.
Morning: In the morning, while you may tend to wash your face with warm or even cold water and with an alcohol-free liquid soap, be aware that excessive washing and aggressive detergents can dry the skin making it more sensitive. Prevention means decreasing the frequency of washing and using products that do not foam and wash like a common cleanser, but leave the skin soft. Reducing the use of water is recommended, especially in areas where it is very calcareous, and you may consider replacing your go-to cleanser with micellar water, which will enhance the hydrolipidic film and not over-dry your skin. Afterwards, lightly dab your skin with a soothing tonic based on cooling and emollient herbs such as calendula and chamomile. Finally, choose an excellent, fast absorption, moisturizing cream, enriched with vitamin E.
