James Harden has his 3rd career 60-point game, tying Elgin Baylor for 4th-most in NBA history.
Only Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan have more.
Wofford may not have seemed like a really good team before the tournament, but that changed in a hurry. I wasn’t sold on Wofford. Small schools can have success, but you have to at least have played somebody. The Terriers actually played a hard non-conference, going up against UNC, Mississippi State, and Kansas among others. However they didn’t win any of these games, leading to the belief they can only beat small schools. All evidence might point to this, but when I saw the Seton Hall game, I totally changed my tune. It wasn’t that hard of a matchup for them though, because they really only had to guard Myles Powell. The Myles Powell show was in full effect, but he didn’t play good until late. When he started to heat up, (Seton Hall’s team did as a whole too, because he was their team) Wofford didn’t back down. Led by Fletcher Magee, this team is full of shooters. Magee hit 7 threes, propelling himself into first on the all-time leaderboard, while his teammate, Hoover, also pitched in 4. They shot the doors off of the Pirates, and it was miraculous to see. Every shot, whether there was a hand in their face or not, just seemed to go in. Offenses that are just great at shooting 3s can score points in a hurry, so they are never really out of games. This information is key for their next matchup. The Kentucky Wildcats are fresh off of a first-round domination of Abilene Christian. If I was a Kentucky fan, I would be a bit nervous after watching Wofford’s round 1 game. On top of that, they will be without their best player AGAIN, as PJ Washington is going through a foot injury. Without him there, and Wofford’s recent success, this game looks more and more like a marquee matchup. I’m willing to say this game is the one I am most looking forward to next round. It will be very interesting to see how Kentucky deals with Wofford’s shooting, and if the Terriers can hang with Kentucky’s athletes. I’m not saying Wofford will win, but it will be interesting.
Who do you got? 🏀
With fewer games in the regular season, the western conference playoff picture is becoming clearer. The warriors normally lead the western conference, but the warriors have four potential opponents because there is only a 1-win margin between the fifth and eighth games in the western conference. So who would the warriors prefer to play in the first round? Who does the warriors have a better chance of advancing? So let's do a little bit of a rational analysis, and see if we're all on the same page.
First, the warriors' potential opponents are the thunder, spurs, clippers and jazz. Who do you think the warriors prefer to fight? In my opinion, none of the four opponents are easy to play. From the warriors' point of view, they prefer the thunder. The reason is simple, the thunder have westbrook and George, but westbrook can only break through, not shoot. As long as westbrook's breakout and passer line is limited, the warriors will win the series.
