The gurus feet.
In the Indian scriptures the gurus feet are given incredible importance.
Energetically, it is said that the transmission of gurus knowledge towards the disciples comes from the feet.
Mediation wise, for those who meditate on the gurus form should meditate on the feet of the guru when the mind is too turbulent to meditate easily. Once establishing tranquillity one can return to meditation on the entire form.
Serving the guru while he is alive, is a very high form of yoga and very few can do it.
To humble oneself before the knowledge present in the guru, or the master one can sit at the Gurus feet to show his or her own humility, that Guruji, yes I " would like to learn from you ". Sri Adi Shankaracharya, wrote an entire stotram, a divine hymn to the liberated Gurus feet called
"Guru Paduka Stotram". The hymn extols the virtues of a liberated master, and says that even by simply worshipping the feet of our Guru we can cross the ocean of transmigration; that the Gurus feet give one dispassion towards worldly existence and many other beautiful things.
