Don’t misunderstand this behavior as impoliteness!☝️ What’s often perceived as coldness, is a way we Swedes behave to avoid bothering others.🙇🏼♀️ Like👉 “I don’t want to interfere" or "I don't want to be in the way”.😌
So if you are a visitor in Sweden, you shouldn’t just sit down next to a Swede and start telling them the story of your life or, God forbid🙏🏼, ask them where they’re heading to. Oh no. Talking about the weather☝️ would be a good start into a conversation in case you just can’t keep your mouth shut, but even then you’ll probably be perceived as a weirdo...🤷🏼♀️ Sorry, but it’s true.

Afgelopen dagen hebben we de straten van Maastricht onveilig gemaakt. Met het zonnetje op ons gezicht, non-stop lekkere trek en geld in ons portemonnee wat dolgraag wilde rollen, hebben we vooral veel gegeten en geshopt. Onze 6 favoriete hotspots in Maastricht zijn de Van Delft Pepernotenfabriek, Le Comptoir de Mathilde (chocolaterie), Café Madrid (tapas), Café Local (lunch), Vino & Friends (wijnbar) en Van Wijck voor ontbijt en lunch.
Helaas is het vandaag voor ons ook weer een gewone werkdag en dus moeten we weer "normaal" doen met eten 🙈 Daarom beginnen we vandaag met deze nicecreams. Een ideaal ontbijtje vol met fruit, waardoor we onze portie vitamientjes weer binnen hebben!
Macro's per portie (excl. topping):
Ingrediënten voor 2 nicecreams:
200 gram bevroren banaan
60 gram bevroren bramen
200 gram bevroren framboos
70 gram kokosnootdrink van @alpro
Mix alle ingrediënten in een blender of keukenmachine tot een gladde maar dikke massa. Zorg ervoor dat alles goed gemengd is en dat er geen stukjes fruit meer in zitten. Als het mengsel te dik is, kun je het eventueel verdunnen met wat koud water. De echte zoetekauwen onder ons kunnen de nicecreams zoeter maken met een beetje honing! Schep het mengsel in een glas of bakje en top de nicecreams af met een topping naar keuze. Geniet ervan! ♡

This is my first post in awhile but I want it to be meaningful.
I heard an older man say something today in the library when he was asked what he had been doing.
He said, “I’m just watching the cars go by.”
And for some reason, it made me think.
It made me think that all life is, is just watching the cars go by metaphorically.
Time is like that, it moves like cars just driving by, and it can also just pass us by.
And it makes me wonder why we have to follow a script for our lives and pass the time in an “orderly manner” like cars.
We aren’t machines.
We are people.
Life should be a flowing, erratic, or even gentle thing.
We should strive to be more of doers than observers.
In this culture, we are obsessed with doing and doing.
Achieving and achieving.
But really, all we need is to just be happy.
Give your gifts freely, but nurture your soul and your heart.
You are meant for more than just a life that follows a gps.
We are unique and we deserve to live that way.

I used to love adding cows milk or pouring cream in my coffee before I found out I couldn’t have dairy as a result of my ulcerative colitis. I actually couldn’t bring myself to drink almond cappuccinos for soooo long until I got to LA & I discovered that adding a splash of honey made them a million times more delicious. 🤤🍯 Who would have thought? ☺️ Now, I don’t even miss dairy at all and my body feels so much better for not having it.
Did you know a large percentage of people are actually lactose intolerant? Lactose intolerance occurs when the body lacks ‘lactase’, which is the enzyme required to digest the lactose found in dairy products. The lactose remains in the gut, where its broken down by your gut bacteria, causing uncomfortable digestive issues. 😳 Also, some people have food intolerances to whey and casein, which are proteins found in milk. Chronic consumption of a food that you have an intolerance to causes inflammation & can present in conditions such as asthma, auto-immune conditions, sinusitis, gastritis & acne. Thankfully, so many places offer dairy-free milk alternatives these days. 😆
Some common milks available are almond, cashew, hazelnut, pistachio, hemp, coconut, rice & soy. (I would advise against soy, as most soy is heavily sprayed with pesticides & is GMO). Plus, it tastes horrendous! 🤢😅
Believe it or not, all plant-based milks aren’t created equal, so keep in mind the following points when choosing a non-dairy milk. 👇🏽

Heck this morning the pipe blew below my kitchen sink while I was washing the crock pot. I am completely grateful that it happened while was at home, not on a trip, or running the dish washer 😳....and for Plummer Tony squeezing me in to save the day! 🙌🙌🙌💜 Only keep those with the same mind set as you around.
