New patient exam. Wanted to show patient recurrent decay on tooth 8 ML via dental photography and CariVu. I have never tried using CariVu on anterior teeth until yesterday. In my opinion it works great but I could have used a child’s size to get a better image. My happiness came from the fact that my patient appreciated that I wanted to go out of my way to show what recurrent decay was through solid photography and a caries indicating device like CariVu. I feel the more I can show and educate to my patients, the more trust they can have in me. Used a cropped frame camera (Nikon D500) 📸: Nikon D500
Lens: Nikon 105mm macro lens
Flash: Nikon R1C1
Shutter speed: 1/125
Magnification: 1:1.5 (equivalent to 1:1) due to sensor size
Caries Indicator: CariVu by Dexis
Thanks for your time.
