A few weeks ago i was watching some of the dodo videos and thinking how cute it was to see stuff like a baby cow and a puppy be friends and live together. However after thinking about it more I realised how hypocritical it was for me to look at that cow and think how sweet it was and simultaneously want to eat it. After doing a lot of research i discovered how up to 72 billion animals are killed each year just because we think they're tasty even though we don't have to eat them. In a world where climate change is a major threat for civilisation, 51% of greenhouse gases emissions come from the animal agriculture industry whilst only 18% comes from transport. I've been on a plant-based diet for 3 weeks now and I cant tell you how much better i feel knowing that im not harming any animals. Additionally, I feel like i have so much more energy and my mental health has improved. I get all my vitamins, protein etc from plants and i strongly believe everyone can. I'm not saying everyone has to go vegan straight away but gradual steps such as no meat mondays are a great start imo. I want to end by saying that all animals feel love, pain, anxiety, anger, happiness etc. Indeed pigs are the 4th most intelligent animal, even more than a dog. We must learn to respect the nature around us before we can respect ourselves🌱
