Here we see Mt. Shuksan, 2783m, (9131'), seen from near the Mt. Baker Ski Area. The peak itself is within North Cascades National Park, Washington State. Image taken February 1979, in 4x5 film format using a 20" Bausch & Lomb lens.

PHOTO TIP: While Mt. Rainier is the most photographed mountain in Washington, this view of Mt Shuksan is the most single photographed mountain view in the state and is iconic, much like the Maroon Bells in Colorado. Route 542, the Mt. Baker Scenic Byway, leads right to this spot.
